Bekah gets real about Bachelor Arie: ‘He’s not ready for marriage’
By Ruby Maxwell
Bekah Martinez isn’t bitter about her on-screen breakup with Bachelor Arie Luyendyk, but she is very honest about his lack of readiness for a long-term relationship.
Throughout this season of the Bachelor, fans made it their job to point out how young Bekah Martinez is. It turns out she’s a very insightful and mature young woman. Bekah also seems to know more about Arie wants than he does.
She is certain Luyendyk is not ready for marriage, even though he is trying to convince us otherwise. Here’s more of what Bekah has to say about Arie, as well as her complete Facebook Live video that’s worth watching.
Arie isn’t being honest with himself, or so it seems
During the Facebook live interview, Bekah shared her thoughts about Arie with ET’s Lauren Zima. She’s brutally honest — many girls on Bachelor franchise shows could learn a thing or two from Bekah.
Clearly, Arie is trying to make viewers think he’s looking for a Sean Lowe type of life, but it may not be what he really wants. Arie past dating patterns don’t measure up to what he’s saying on TV, something Bekah agrees with.
Bekah tells ET, “I think Arie has a conflict between how he wants to present himself and what kind of woman he thinks he should be with, and what kind of woman he knows he should be with, and then what he really wants … you don’t just change dating patterns you had for years and years at the drop of a hat because you’re on a TV show…”
When asked if she thinks Arie is ready to get married, she doesn’t hesitate to say, “no.”
“I think I’m more ready for marriage than Arie is, quite honestly … I don’t think Arie knows what he wants, and I don’t think he’s serious about being with one person for the rest of his life.”
Truth? Probably.
During the overnight dates, he told Lauren, Becca, and Kendall he was in love with them. He spent the night in the fantasy suite with all three — clearly he wasn’t up all night talking.

Arie seems to just say what fans want to hear. That may have led him to make a rash decision when the final rose was taped in November. [Spoilers ahead]
Although he proposed during the final rose ceremony, Arie changed his mind two months later and broke off the engagement.
And there’s a twist — he rekindles his rather boring relationship with his runner-up.
At least until he decides that he was only in love because that’s what he thought fans wanted to see.
“I think I’m more ready for marriage than Arie is, quite honestly,” Bekah said during the Facebook Live interview. “I don’t think Arie knows what he wants, and I don’t think he’s serious about being with one person for the rest of his life.”
