Why did ‘Bachelor’ Ben and Lauren break up? Read their heartfelt breakup statement

Bachelor stars Ben and Lauren announced their breakup after weeks of speculation about their relationship status.
Days after rumors about their split surfaced on Twitter, People has confirmed that Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell are no longer together. That’s right. No big TV wedding is in store for Ben and Lauren, the stars of The Bachelor Season 21.
Last week, they hosted the Disney Fairytale Weddings special on Freeform. On Monday, Ben and Lauren issued the following statement about their split, telling friends they will “remain friends.” Read their full statement below.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce our decision to go our separate ways. We feel fortunate for the time we had together, and will remain friends with much love and respect for one another. We wish nothing but the best for each other, and ask for your support and understanding at this time.”
Ben and Lauren showed signs of relationship troubles months ago. When their reality show, Ben and Lauren: Happily Ever After aired on Freeform, it was clear that Ben wasn’t quite ready to settle down. Of course, they only dated for a few weeks on The Bachelor before they got engaged, so it’s understandable that he was hesitant.

Ben and Lauren’s split is not a shocker
Their breakup should not come as a big surprise to Bachelor Nation. After all, if you stalk the couples’ social media accounts, it was clear that they were no longer posting cute couple pics of each other.
Although that’s not always a sign of an impending breakup, in the Bachelor world it almost always signals there is trouble in paradise.
Their breakup statement is a stock one — sounds exactly like the one written by Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff. Whether fans find out what really happened is unknown.
Considering Ben seems to be a private person, we may not hear much. We’ve heard through the grapevine that Lauren has moved out of Ben’s Colorado home and has returned to her parents home on the west coast.
