When Arie sent Krystal home during the 2-on-1 date, some Bachelor fans were ecstatic. Now Arie is speaking out about his decision to dump this season’s villain.
When Krystal Nielson met Arie’s parents during the first 1-on-1 date of the season, she thought it would up her chances to win the Bachelor star’s final rose. But a successful first date didn’t lead to a happily-ever-after for Krystal who was dumped during the 2-on-1 date in Paris.
Although it’s been almost three months since the date was filmed in Paris, Arie is finally able to share his thoughts on why he decided to send Krystal home.
Producers may have had a hand in turning Krystal into this season’s villain. However, she seemed to revel in her role, convincing viewers that her sole focus was on winning.

It’s hard to tell if her interest in Arie was genuine, but her departure for the show made it clear that Arie wasn’t buying what Krystal was selling.
Krystal didn’t get along with most of the other women on Arie’s season. Although she always flashed a smile when she spoke, she was condescending to just about everyone she talked to.
Arie didn’t get to see most of Krystal’s interactions with the girls when the episodes were filmed. However, her bowling alley meltdown clearly made him think twice about a future with the 30-year-old fitness instructor.
There’s a good chance producers asked him to keep her around another week because she was the perfect fit for the 2-on-1 date.
She’s the only girl who creates drama, so what better way to give this season some much-needed excitement?
Aside from her bratty behavior on the bowling alley date, what prompted Arie to send Krystal home?
In his most recent People blog, Arie stated that he went on the show to “find a wife, not a drama queen” and he could no longer trust her.
“When it comes down to it, I just knew I’d never be able to really trust Krystal again,” Arie wrote in his blog. “There were too many red flags at this point and, though I tried, I could not get over her meltdown in Fort Lauderdale.”
Arie went on to say that he kept her an extra week to see if their relationship “could recover, but none of her apologies were able to repair what was broken. Though I once had very strong feelings for her, those feelings were now gone. It was time to say goodbye. Ultimately, I had to remember why I came on the show in the first place. I was here to find a wife, not a drama queen.”
