Bachelor Arie ‘shocked’ Bekah is 22, but his final pick is only 25 — seriously?

The Bachelor Arie Luyendyk said it was shocking to find out Bekah Martinez is only 22-years-old. What’s the big deal? His final pick is 25.

[Warning: Bachelor spoilers ahead] And despite the fact that Arie has admitted that Bekah’s age was a shocker, that didn’t stop him from sucking face with her. And age wasn’t an issue when he made he decided to dump his final pick and ultimately choose a girl who is only three years older than Bekah.

Arie recently spoke about Bekah’s age on Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti’s Almost Famous podcast. He said it shocked him that she was 22 and he “really expected her to be in her mid-twenties” even though “she looks so young.”

Alright, this is weird. Arie says he isn’t sure Bekah’s “partying and clubbing days” are behind her because she is only 22.

As if you can’t party in your mid-twenties? Or thirties? Heck, look at half of the Bachelor contestants, past and present. They are mid-twenties to mid-thirties and still partying.

Despite the fact that he took issue with her age, Arie gushed over her during the podcast, telling Ben and Ashley that Bekah is “very bold” and that’s attractive to him.

Apparently, her age was the determining factor when it came to figuring out whether she should stay or go. Spoilers point to Arie sending Bekah home before the hometown dates episode. During the podcast, he hinted that this happened, telling Ben and Ashley that he wouldn’t comment as to whether Martinez is too young to be the next Bachelorette.

Bekah, Becca…

But, we all know that she’s not going to be the next Bachelorette. Instead, it looks like the other Becca (Kufrin) may be handing out roses this Spring.

If you haven’t heard, Arie gave Becca, 29, his final rose. They got engaged in Peru last November, but Arie reportedly broke off their engagement last week.

Producers were there for the breakup (with cameras), so fans will probably see poor Becca get dumped and replaced by his runner-up, Lauren Burnham.

Yes, Lauren B. — she’s 25. And she was ready to walk down the aisle on July 8, the day she was supposed to marry an NHL player.

Seriously, there’s more drama off-screen than there is on the show this season.

So far, there’s no word that Arie proposed to Lauren. That would be kind of odd considering he just ended his engagement to Becca.

Let’s recap:

Bekah was too young (22), but Arie dumped Becca (29) for 25-year-old Lauren.

So much for Arie wanted to settle down with someone closer to his age. Lauren is 11 years younger than Arie.

Will it last? Time will tell, but we’re not betting our box ‘o wine on it.
