‘Bachelorette’ Rachel says her engagement ring isn’t the one she wanted

Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay is excited to reveal her final pick, but she’s not all that thrilled with her engagement ring.

Rachel Lindsay will hand out her final rose on the August 7 Bachelorette season finale. In return, the man she picked will propose and place a Neil Lane diamond engagement ring on her finger.

Although Rachel says she is “very much in love” with the man she picked, that’s not the case when it comes to her engagement ring. The Bachelor franchise is known for their over-the-top engagement rings, but Rachel was hoping for a little less bling. She didn’t get her wish.

Fortunately, Rachel is very happy with the guy she picked. The ring? She’d opt for something else if she had her choice, but there’s no doubt she’ll be showing it off as soon as the season ends.

Last week, Rachel spoke to USA Today after taping the Bachelorette Men Tell All. When asked about her ring (she can’t wear it yet), Rachel said she wanted a “stack of bands” instead of a traditional diamond engagement ring.

But producers said, “no.” They told her that Neil Lane wasn’t going to do a simple stack of bands. Instead, she was told to “pick a cut” and her final pick would then choose from a variety of rings.

The cut she picked? A pear shape

“I’ve been very simple. I just wanted bands, just a stack of bands,” Rachel told USA Today. “And they said, ‘No, no, no Neil Lane is not going to do that!’ So I said, ‘OK, fine! I’ll pick a cut!’ And so I picked pear shape, which is something I really like and from there, ‘the one’ ran with it.”

“The one” refers to the guy she picked. And we can only imagine how big the pear-shaped rock is.

Rings that past Bachelorette stars have walked away with are typically in the $80,000 – $125,000 range.

Fans can expect to see a stunner on Rachel’s finger when she appears with her groom-to-be on the After the Final Rose special on Monday, August 7.
