Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay says she’s in love but fans won’t be hearing wedding bells anytime soon.

The Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay isn’t keeping her engagement a secret. One week after she taped the final rose ceremony in Madrid, Rachel revealed that she fell in love and got engaged with one of the 31 guys cast for her season. However, if you want to see the happy couple walk down the aisle, you may have to wait awhile.

Let’s just say this. Rachel is one smart lady. She’s not in a rush to get married. After all, her whirlwind journey to find love took just seven weeks to film. So, after speed dating a whole bunch of guys, it only makes sense for Rachel to put the brakes on the whole wedding thing. But there’s some good news — she’s totally into the guy she picked and is absolutely giddy about getting to know him off-camera.

Rachel finally met her match

During a press call earlier this week, Rachel confirmed that she is “in love” and “engaged.” She went on to say that if she had a list, “he would check everything off.” Sounds like she finally met her match!

Although Rachel is over-the-moon happy about her new man, the next few months will be tough for the 32-year-old Dallas attorney.

The couple won’t be able to go out in public together until after the Bachelorette finale airs on August 7.

And, just one week after her engagement was taped, Rachel is already struggling with the fact that they can’t see each other as often as she’d like.

“It is hard when you’re so excited about something and you can’t share it with everyone,” Rachel tells the Hollywood Reporter. “But we make sure to communicate with each other all the time, and that’s all you can really do.”

Bachelorette Rachel’s future plans

Wouldn’t it be great if Rachel and her final pick (spoiler in link) ended up getting married? Although she says she’s not in a rush to tie the knot, Bachelor Nation could use a happily-ever-after story. Especially with the recent news that Ben and Lauren crushed our dreams and went their separate ways.

For now, the Bachelorette star is playing it smart. She wants to get to know her fiancé before she starts talking about a wedding.

“I want us to get the chance to get to know each other. Maybe it will be quick. Maybe it will be a longer engagement like Shawn [Booth] and Kaitlyn [Bristowe],” Rachel explained. “We just really want to get to know each other.”

Watch the Bachelorette Season 13 premiere on Monday, May 22 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
