Bachelor Arie is a race car driver so he’d fit right into the upcoming season of DWTS that will feature a sports-themed cast.

Three former Bachelor stars headed from the rose ceremony to the dance floor — will Arie Luyendyk next? The cast of the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars will all be athletes and driving a race car is a sport. It sounds like a natural fit for Arie, who got engaged to runner-up Lauren Burnham on the March 6 Bachelor finale.

Here’s what Arie has to say about joining the Dancing with the Stars cast, a gig that would take up some serious time away from his bride-to-be.

Will Arie put on his dancing shoes?

So far, fans have watched three Bachelor stars —Jake Pavelka, Sean Lowe, and Chris Soules — hit the dance floor. Now, the big question is, will Arie take the gig or focus on his relationship with Lauren?

After his explosive breakup with Becca Kufrin played out on the Bachelor finale, it sounds like Arie wants to stay far, far away from cameras for now.

Now that he’s engaged to Lauren — and, yes, they are planning their wedding — Arie tells In Style that he wants to put his relationship first. That’s right, he’s saying “no” to Dancing with the Stars.

“I won’t do Dancing with the Stars because I’m trying to avoid the mistakes that have been made in the past,” Arie told In Style. “I think, at the end of the day, you have to do what’s healthy for your relationship first.”

Smart move, Arie! Dancing with the Stars requires hours and hours of rehearsals in L.A. — that’s doesn’t leave much time to enjoy a new relationship.

Arie and Lauren recently returned from a trip to Iceland and Barcelona and now they are spending some time in Virginia with Lauren’s parents. After their visit, they will travel to Arizona where they plan to live together in Arie’s home.

Next up? A wedding that will take place in August or September 2018.
