Bachelor Arie proposes to Lauren after calling off engagement to Becca [report]
By Ruby Maxwell
Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr reportedly got engaged to runner-up Lauren Burnham in January and ABC’s cameras were there to record his second engagement.
If you thought this season of the Bachelor was a total snooze-fest, things are about to change. The season finale and After the Final Rose special will air on both Monday and Tuesday night this week. Put aside five hours of your life for what is expected to be one of the craziest finales in the history of the show.
“Blindsided” may become the word of the week during the two-night finale. Is there any other season where a Bachelor star has proposed to his final two girls in a short period of time? The answer is … not exactly.
Many fans have compared Arie’s season finale to Jason Mesnick’s season, but it’s not exactly the same. Keep in mind, Jason broke up with Melissa Rycroft shortly after the final rose ceremony was taped. He went on to date Molly Melaney for almost TEN months before he proposed.
That’s NOT what happened on Arie’s season. This is what we know so far…
Cold-hearted snake?
You may want to start throwing things at your TV (please don’t) when Arie proposes not once, but twice before this week’s two-night finale ends.
Arie may say “I made a mistake” several times during Tuesday night’s Bachelor After the Final Rose, but we’re not so sure fans will believe him.
Especially when fans find out how he broke off his engagement to Becca.

It’s all but confirmed that proposed to Becca in November — especially because Hulu put the final episode online a few days ago. Screenshots of the engagement were taken before the show was removed from the lineup.
Becca and Arie got together several times after the finale was taped, but in mid-January, he made a hot mess out of a “couples weekend” they planned together.
According to Reality Steve, Becca thought they were spending the weekend together as a couple in a house producers arranged for them to stay in. Instead, Arie showed up to the house with a camera crew.
Becca was reportedly told they were filming a segment about their relationship that would air during the finale. Instead, they taped Arie breaking off the engagement. Needless to say, she was blindsided by this and her heartbreak will play out on TV.
Arie becomes an engagement professional
After leaving Becca in tears, Arie reportedly went to Virginia to meet with Lauren Burnham and her parents. Although he dumped her at the final rose ceremony in November, it didn’t stop her from taking Arie back after he savagely ends his engagement to Becca.
Lauren and Arie started dating in mid-January. Arie apparently had another diamond ring burning a hole in his pocket.
Fans will see Arie propose to Lauren at some point on Tuesday night’s After the Final Rose ceremony. She is reportedly moving into his Arizona home after the finale.
Good news for Becca
ABC reports that they will introduce the next Bachelorette during the After the Final Rose special on Tuesday night. Unless she has a last-minute change of heart, fans will see Becca Kufrin handing out roses to 25 or more eligible bachelors in May.
Of course, ABC won’t confirm that yet, but we’d be shocked to find out she turned the opportunity down.
Watch the Bachelor season finale at 8 p.m. ET on Monday, March 5, followed by the live Women Tell All on Tuesday, March 6 at 8 p.m. ET.
