The Bachelor Arie Luyendyk fell in love with two girls, but no one expected him to get engaged to both of them. Get ready for a mind-blowing 2-night finale!
The Bachelor season finale and After the Final Rose special is normally a one-night event. But Arie’s season will have such a complicated ending it will air on both Monday and Tuesday night. Most fans know that there’s a big shake-up coming, but it’s bigger than anyone could have imagined.
What Arie did when he broke off his engagement to his final rose winner, Becca Kufrin, is absolutely rotten (details below). To make matters worse, a new report suggests Arie got engaged to runner-up Lauren Burnham last weekend — in the same place Jade and Tanner Tolbert got married. They are reportedly moving in together after the finale airs. Here’s what we know so far.
Boring season leads to a mind-blowing finale
Arie’s season of the Bachelor premiered on January 1, approximately six weeks after he proposed to Becca in Peru. They spent several weeks together, including New Year’s Eve in New York City.
Arie kicked off the new year by calling runner-up Lauren Burnham, something Becca apparently knew about. What happened next will give you a good idea why Caroline Lunny called Arie out during the Women Tell All.
Here’s a timeline to make this a little easier to digest
I’ll say this — it’s going to be really, really hard to wish Arie well based on this information…
Mid-November Becca and Arie get engaged in Peru
December 31 Becca and Arie spend New Year’s Eve together.
January 1 Arie called Lauren on the night of the Bachelor premiere to tell her he was having second thoughts.
Weekend of January 12 According to Reality Steve, Becca and Arie had previously planned a weekend together at one of the “secret” houses producers arrange for the Bachelor and his final pick to stay.
Becca is told — by either Arie or the producers — cameras would be at the house because producers were doing a couples update. Instead, cameras were there to record Arie breaking off his engagement. That’s Becca you hear crying in the video below. (We need more wine — this is upsetting.)
Apparently, Becca did not expect Arie to break up with her, never mind cameras recording the whole thing. Becca all but confirmed this happened in one of her Instagram stories.
Steve confirms that during the breakup, Arie told Becca it had “nothing to do with Lauren.” Okay, Arie. We know that is not true…
January 16 – Arie travels to Virginia to see Lauren B. and her parents. They start dating. Keep in mind, this is just a few days after he dumped Becca.
Weekend of February 24 – Just six weeks after he broke off his engagement with Becca, blogger Kate Kasey tipped Reality Steve off that a film crew was at a romantic beach-front setup at the same place Jade and Tanner (Bachelor in Paradise) got married — Dana Point, California.
Arie gets Engaged. Again. – If Steve’s source is correct, Arie and Lauren got engaged last weekend. It was, of course, recorded and will air on either Monday or Tuesday night. He also states that Lauren plans to move in with Arie (Arizona) after the finale airs on March 5/6.

Two-night finale
Former Bachelor Jason Mesnick and his wife, Molly are expected to make an appearance on Tuesday night’s show.
Jason broke up with his final pick after his season and started dating Molly, but they dated for 10 months before they got engaged.
Now we know why Caroline Lunny said, “I know what you did.” Arie is not going to go down as the most popular Bachelor in history.
He makes Juan Pablo look like Prince Charming.
