The Bachelor Winter Games will undoubtedly have hookups and drama, but the booze will not be flowing like was in Paradise.

All 26 contestants on The Bachelor: Winter Games will compete in “winter-themed challenges” during the four-episode spinoff that premieres February 13. And rest assured, we won’t see anyone bombed out of their mind on a ski slope.

Before filming got under way in December, ABC made sure there wouldn’t be another DeMario-Corinne scandal by implementing some serious drinking rules. And it’s not just the possibility of another sexual misconduct incident that prompted the new guidelines.

Fans will see contestants compete in various winter sports challenges, like skiing. Getting drunk before you ski is a recipe for disaster, so drinking before any competition was not allowed when the spinoff was filmed.

The Cut reports that contestants were not only forbidden from drinking before they took part in a challenge, there is also a two-drink-per-hour rule. Fans may remember that this two drink rule was implemented on Paradise after the Corinne-Demario situation, but it hasn’t always been that way.

Boozing it up was the norm during the Bachelor Pad days. And then Bachelor in Paradise came along. Remember Chad?

In addition to the rule that contestants can’t drink before taking part in a competition, and the two-drink-per-hour max, ABC also required The Bachelor: Winter Games contestants to log all of their drinks when filming took place in December.

The Cut also reports that mental health and wellness staff members were available for all contestants.

It sure sounds like ABC wanted to cover their butts to avoid the controversy that overshadowed the most recent season of Bachelor in Paradise.

Will limiting and logging in drinks keep The Bachelor: Winter Games contestants from getting drunk?

Maybe not, but, so far, we haven’t heard anything about contestants acting like drunken fools while filming the show in Vermont. And that’s a good thing.
