Bachelor Nick Viall dishes on split with Vanessa and returning to TV
By Ruby Maxwell
Nick Viall’s recent split with Vanessa Grimaldi has many fans wondering if the Wisconsin native will return to the Bachelor franchise for the fifth time.
Nick and Vanessa announced their breakup last week, something that didn’t come as a shock for most Bachelor fans. However, the former software salesman had only kind things to say about his ex while dishing about his future and the possibility of finding love (again) on TV.
When Nick started handing out roses as in January, it was his fourth shot at finding love within the Bachelor franchise. After striking out twice on the Bachelorette, and dumping Jen Saviano on Bachelor in Paradise, he was given another chance as the season 21 Bachelor. Now that he’s single again, what’s his next move?
Nick and Vanessa issues a joint breakup statement to the media last week. Their announcement wasn’t a surprise to fans who follow the couple on social media. Vanessa was spending more time in Canada and there were noticeably fewer pics of the Bachelor star by her side, a major clue that their relationship was over.
Nick talks about his love for Vanessa
Although their engagement only lasted a few months, Nick tells Us Weekly he doesn’t have any regrets about taking the Bachelor gig. Instead, he says many positive things came from his experience, including his brief relationship with Vanessa.
“Vanessa and I are still very much each other’s support system,” Nick said. “I still love her very much. I’m not afraid to say that.”

Unfortunately, their love for each other was not enough to make their relationship work.
On a positive note, Nick said he is thankful for the support they have received from their friends and Bachelor Nation.
“To me, it’s always been important to focus on the people you’re really close with,” Nick said. “I was very thankful for a lot of people reaching out and kind of giving their best wishes to both Vanessa and I. A lot of friends from Bachelor Nation were some of those people, and we’re thankful for them.”
What’s next for Nick?
Chris Harrison has yet to announced the next Bachelor, but rest assured it won’t be Nick Viall.
Nick, 36, tells Us Weekly, “I’m definitely done with that.”
Don’t count him out yet, though! Nick didn’t mention ABC’s upcoming spinoff, Bachelor Winter Games that premieres in February. It’s more of a competition-type series that will air during the 2018 Winter Olympics, so we shall see if Nick joins the cast as a competitor.
