Peter Kraus out as next Bachelor? Says he’s ‘uncomfortable’ in front of cameras — and there’s more

Peter Kraus speaks out about his awkward reunion with Rachel Lindsay and shares his thoughts about becoming the next Bachelor.

Peter Kraus didn’t get a warm reception when he reunited with Rachel Lindsay on the Bachelorette After the Final Rose special. In a post-show interview, Peter addresses more than just the season finale drama. He talks about how uncomfortable he was on dates, mainly because cameras were following his every move.

During the ATFR, it appeared Rachel was trying to put Peter out of the running for the Bachelor gig. She told him the” franchise wasn’t for him” — mainly because he didn’t propose. Peter now admits that he may not be ready to hand out roses, especially after going through some extremely uncomfortable moments during the finale.

Peter was uncomfortable with the whole process

After the finale aired on Monday night, Peter talked to reporters about his experience on the show. He also shared his thoughts about possibly becoming the next Bachelor.

When asked about his interaction with Rachel, Peter admits he didn’t like the way Rachel spoke to him during the ATFR special. Although he knew he had to respond, he didn’t say everything that was on his mind. He tells Reality TV World he chose to “bite his tongue” instead.

His reunion with Rachel was TOTALLY awkward. Now fans are worried Peter may be out of the running as the next Bachelor. Not just because Rachel told him the process wasn’t for him, but due to his own admission that he is uncomfortable in front of the cameras.

"“I felt very uncomfortable at times during some of those dates because I don’t feel very comfortable in front of the camera at times. It was hard to get in that comfort zone whole-heartedly occasionally in that process.”"

Finding love while cameras are rolling is completely different than dating in real life

Peter says that in his past relationships, he looked at rings after three months, but, if the relationship worked out, he didn’t plan on proposing until many months had passed.

He goes on to say that he looked rings after “being with that person every single day and talking to that person hours and hours a day, and spending nights [together].”

That’s something that didn’t happen with Rachel on the Bachelorette. He confirms that he had “four or five” dates with the Bachelorette. They take awhile to film but the couple is not together the entire time.

Here’s where things get dicey as far as Peter becoming the next Bachelor

More from Accept This Rose

It’s hard to imagine Peter being uncomfortable in front of cameras. If you follow him on Instagram, you will see that he did modeling work in the past. However, that’s quite different than having your personal life play out in the media while you try to find love on TV.

And, as we all know, fans have some serious opinion about Bachelor leads and contestants and they don’t hold back on social media.

Perhaps Rachel was right. Maybe Peter isn’t a good fit for the show. It’s not like he can’t find a girl on his own.

Don’t cry — there’s still hope!

Although Peter told reporters he needs more time to process the whole After the Final Rose situation, he won’t rule out an offer to become the Bachelor 2018.

“Consider? Sure. As of right now, am I thinking about it? No,” he told the Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday. “Last night was really tough. This entire process has been tough on me. I don’t know if I can get to that level with someone that fast, but I certainly know that I tried. In this one instance, I couldn’t. I can’t really speak to my future.”

All signs point to producers all but begging Peter Kraus to become the next Bachelor. After all, he has a huge fan following.

By the time the Bachelor in Paradise season finale rolls around in September, we will find out for sure who the next Bachelor star is. Stay tuned.
