Inside ‘Bachelorette’ Rachel Lindsay’s proposal: Fairy-tale ending takes unexpected turn
By Ruby Maxwell
Rachel Lindsay’s journey to find love ends in a romantic proposal but the final rose ceremony may not be the fairy-tale ending the Bachelorette expected.
Most dramatic rose ceremony in history? Maybe not, but there will be plenty of tears shed and some indecisiveness on the part of Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay. After her Fantasy Suite dates, Rachel will be down to her final two men and she has doubts about both of them.
Chris Harrison will host the three-hour event that will play out in front of a live studio audience on August 7. We all know Rachel is engaged, she’s confirmed that herself. However, the Bachelorette dropped a major hint about the outcome of the show earlier this week that has us wondering if Reality Steve’s spoilers are wrong. Here’s what we know so far.
After losing out to love with Bachelor Nick Viall, Rachel was given a second chance at finding her future husband when she was offered the gig as the season 13 Bachelorette. Rachel has confirmed she did find her happily ever after, but not before a few dramatic moments leave her in tears during Monday night’s finale.
Bachelorette season 13 spoilers ahead
In her most recent People blog, Rachel will make you question the final rose spoilers that are circulating online.
She writes, “Think you know who’s going to pop the question? Guess again.”
Did producers tell her to write that to throw us all off course? Well, it depends on which course you’re on. Are you Team Eric, Team Peter, or Team Bryan?
Reality Steve has confirmed Eric Bigger goes home after the overnight dates. That leaves Peter Kraus and Bryan Abasolo as the last men standing. Raise your hand if you’re shocked.
The season finale was filmed in Spain, so despite the tears, Rachel had a beautiful backdrop for her proposal. Or were there two proposals?
A show insider tells Life & Style Rachel was a “total mess” the night before the final rose ceremony. On the day the finale was taped, the insider says Rachel was afraid to make the wrong decision and it turned out to be “the proposal from hell.”
Related Story: Rachel didn't get the ring she wanted!
Well, we’re not so sure Life & Style‘s “insider” has the right information. Their “source” makes it sound like the proposal from her final pick was “hell.” That doesn’t sound possible. If it was a hot mess, Rachel would have walked away — she’s a smart lady.
Here’s what I think happens during the final rose ceremony.
Peter bails on Rachel
Just a guess, but it’s totally possible that Peter tells Rachel he loves her but not in the “I want to get engaged right now” kinda’ way. After all, he has Fab Fit Fun boxes to promote and a fitness biz to attend to.

I could be wrong, but when the finale was filmed, I have a feeling Peter said he wasn’t ready to propose and walked away.
Perhaps before the rose ceremony even started.
Bottom line, there’s no way Peter proposed to Rachel.
Perhaps Peter gets rejected — but it’s all a setup
If Peter doesn’t dump Rachel, expect her to reject him with a heartfelt “goodbye.”
She will tell him she didn’t feel he was ready for a proposal and remind him, for the 100th time, that she doesn’t want a boyfriend.
He will cry. She will cry. He will head straight to the Bachelor mansion.
A rejection, after telling Rachel he loves her, is the perfect storyline for Peter’s next gig as the Bachelor.
Oh, and Bryan proposes and Rachel will get her wish — an engagement.
Will they live happily ever after? Time will tell.
Watch the Bachelorette season finale on Monday, August 7 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
