Who is ‘Bachelorette’ contestant Lucas Yancey and what’s this ‘Whaboom’ stuff about?

Lucas Yancey is one of 31 men competing for The Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay’s final rose but we’re pretty sure he’s not there for the right reasons.

Get ready for a lot of “Whaboom” on The Bachelorette this season. Or at least while contestant Lucas Yancey is in front of the cameras. The 30-year-old hails from Los Angeles and will be one of the most talked-about contestants on the season premiere.

According to his ABC bio, Lucas Yancey’s occupation is “Whaboom,” a term we’ll all be sick of by the end of night one. However, we have some dirt on this Bachelorette bad boy that will confirm our suspicions that he’s not interested in Rachel. But, rest assured, he is angling for a spot in the Bachelor in Paradise Season 4 cast. And what does “Whaboom” mean, anyway? Here’s the scoop.

Lucas is an actor

Lucas has been on another reality TV show, has a whole ‘lotta YouTube videos, and has his own IMDB page. We’re not saying he’s a Hollywood A-lister, but c’mon now.

More from News

Fans will see what a showboat Lucas is during the Bachelorette premiere. Just wait. You’ll be mildly entertained, but you won’t be thinking, “He’s the perfect guy for Rachel.”

Oh, and he’s not the only guy in the house who was on a reality TV show. Lucas and another contestant, Blake Elarbee, both appeared on We TV’s Ex-Isle.

They didn’t exactly form a friendship while they were on the show. Rumor has it that they’re going to bring their real-life feud to the Bachelorette this season. Should be interesting.

Bachelorette bad boy?

Lucas hasn’t always been a law-abiding citizen. He’s not the only one, either. There are five guys on Rachel’s season who criminal records — fraud, DUI, jail time. Yikes.

Back in 2007, Lucas spent 20 days in jail for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, bodily injury resulting.

Wet Paint reveals that he was also ordered to serve three years probation, do community service, and take a first offender program.

Okay, what the heck is “Whaboom”?

Expect to hear that term over and over again on the Bachelorette premiere. Hopefully, he’s one of the eight guys who goes home on night one, but probably not. He’s entertaining and annoying, so he’ll probably stick around.

We’re not sure what it means, but, during a recent Facebook live event, host Chris Harrison describes it as “a lifestyle. It’s an essence. It’s who he is.”

“It’s a noun, it’s a verb, it’s an adverb,” Harrison said. “You can be Whaboom, you can be Whaboomed, and you can Whaboom. You can call somebody a Whaboom.” Still confused? Yeah, me too.”

Okay. We’re officially over Lucas and it’s only week one. But we’re going to bet our wine and cheese that he’ll be Whabooming it up in Paradise this summer. Obnoxious, don’t you think?
