The Bachelor franchise along with Bachelor Nation strives for happy endings, but, unfortunately, as viewers know all too well, that isn’t always the case. Sadly, many of the contestants’ broken hearts pale in comparison to the tragic deaths of these former Bachelor Nation contestants.

The ones we lost too soon from The Bachelor franchise

Eric Hill from The Bachelorette Season 10

Eric Hill was one of the men competing for Andi Dorfman’s love during The Bachelorette Season 10. Mere days before Dorfman’s season was set to premiere, Hill died in a tragic paragliding accident.

CNN documented all of the known details relating to the unfortunate incident. The uncanny and untimely manner of Hill’s death allowed Dorfman to address the tragedy during her season.

Clint Arlis from The Bachelorette Season 11

The Bachelorette Season 11 was unforgettable for quite a few reasons. This was the infamous season that the contestants actually voted between two women, and, as many remember well, Kaitlyn Bristowe won the majority and lead role.

Of course, the cast and the drama definitely played a part in the memorable season. Everyone loves a bit of a bad-boy streak, and Arlis definitely seemed to have one. The architectural engineer buddied up with fellow villain J.J. Lane during his 2015 Bachelor Nation.

Ultimately, Arlis went home during the third week of Bristowe’s season, and sadly, just last year, the former contestant tragically died. According to Fox News, “The 34-year-old of Batavia, Illinois cause of death was determined to be suicide by hanging”.

The heartbreaking news traveled fast, and Bristowe didn’t waste time sharing a tribute on Instagram.

Tyler Gwozdz from ‘The Bachelorette’ Season 15

Featured on Hannah Brown‘s season of The Bachelorette, Tyler Gwozdz seemed like he was off to a good start. However, after going on an enjoyable one-on-one with Brown, Gwozdz mysteriously exited the show.

Even after the season finished airing the full story never came out, and, unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like it ever will. At just the age of 29, Gwozdz suddenly and unexpectedly died. NBC shared that opioids were at the root of Gwozdz’s tragic death.
