Matt James’ season of The Bachelor has broken many barriers, including the whopping number of contestants he’s ultimately met.
Just when we thought no one else could possibly be added to the mix, Heather Martin showed up, claiming her BFF and former Bachelorette, Hannah Brown, said she would be the perfect match for Matt. From there, she pleaded with Chris Harrison for a chance to meet the show’s lead. Fans felt the whole thing was painfully staged, but nevertheless, here we are.
After being told she had to quarantine like everyone else, the 24-year-old seemingly got her wish. Without warning, Heather Martin joined other contestants, and of course, stirred up drama instantly for entering the picture so late. Right away, the other contestants seemed flabbergasted. Many said they hadn’t gotten enough face time with Matt as it was, and weren’t okay with Heather coming in so late. Even those who felt they had stable and established connections with Matt James were not thrilled to be meeting yet another competitor.
But apparently, that drama will die down almost as quickly as it began.
When does Heather go home on The Bachelor season 25?
*Spoilers ahead for The Bachelor season 25.*
As we previously reported, Reality Steve claims Heather Martin’s surprise stint on The Bachelor season 25 is also pretty brief. Apparently, the former contestant is sent home the same day she arrives. However, it’s not clear why Matt James decides to send her home. Not yet, anyway.
Reality Steve says he’s not sure of Matt’s reasoning, but we’ll find out soon enough. He suspects the Bachelor lead might’ve felt it wouldn’t be fair to the other contestants who’ve been putting in way more time to get to know him than Heather has. After all, the former Bachelor contestant from Colton Underwood’s season came in during Week 6.
On top of that, Matt’s been sending contestants home that he doesn’t feel strongly enough about, even if he likes them. In the latest episode, he said he had a great date with Katie Thurston, but “couldn’t give her a rose.” Instead, Matt sent Katie home right then, explaining he’d emotionally gotten further with some of the other contestants and their connection just wasn’t as strong as he needed it to be for their relationship to move forward. Ouch.
Perhaps for Heather Martin, it’s simply a matter of too little too late. Chances are, there just isn’t enough time to form a deep connection, especially with such stiff competition already in place. And who knows, maybe if Heather had pursued Matt sooner, it might’ve worked out differently.
If Reality Steve is correct–which he usually is– we’ll find out exactly why Heather’s journey will conclude so quickly during next week’s episode. So stay tuned! The Bachelor season 25 continues Monday night on ABC.
