Clare Crawley is ready to find love, and Bachelor Nation fans are all ready to watch it go down. After months of COVID-19-related delays, the premiere of The Bachelorette season 16 finally aired last night! We got to meet all 31 of her lucky suitors, but before that, we saw a pretty lengthy introduction about Clare’s past.

Of course, fans of the franchise know that this isn’t Clare’s first time in the spotlight for romance. She first competed on season 18 of The Bachelor with Juan Pablo Galavis, where she delivered her now-iconic speech as she left. After that, the California native had a stint on season 1 of Bachelor in Paradise, followed by season 2 of BiP.

Clare then joined The Bachelor Winter Games in 2018, where she fell in love with Benoit Beausejour-Savard. Anyone who watched that season will remember that Benoit proposed during the After The Final Rose special. Certainly cute, but it didn’t last. Two months after they got engaged, the two called it quits.

As reported by Marie Clare, the hairstylist took to Instagram to announce the news of their split, writing:

"It’s with a heavy heart that we have mutually decided to end our relationship. We think the world of each other, and we were hoping we could make this work. I’m sorry that this may not be what you want to hear, but it’s our truth. Just know there are no negative feelings here, we are simply two people who believed in love, and were open enough to give it a chance."

Though Clare and Benoit didn’t make it for the long haul, you would think an engagement would be worth covering when recapping the now-Bachelorette’s love life on the big screen. However, last night’s season premiere totally skipped it.

When going over Clare’s time with the franchise thus far, the show covered everything but Benoit. So what gives? Benoit even congratulated his ex when she was announced the Bachelorette, so it doesn’t appear that there’s any bad blood.

Whatever the reason for snubbing Benoit, fans on Twitter totally noticed. Many people tweeted out their confusion about the whole ordeal.

Well, we’re sorry Benoit! Good luck in whatever you’re up to these days.
