ABC executive Robert Mills comments about Bachelorette contestant Garrett Yrigoyen’s Instagram scandal are nothing short of disappointing.

By now, most Bachelorette fans know about the controversy that points to Bachelorette contestant Garrett Yrigoyen allegedly liking IG posts that mock survivors of a mass shooting, transgenders, immigrants, and other minorities.

Just hours after Becca Kufrin downplayed the whole situation, ABC exec Robert Mills commented on the social media scandal. Bottom line? ABC is “looking into it” but not doing a damned thing about it right now.

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Robert Mills, ABC’s Senior Vice President of Alternative Series, Specials and Late-Night Programming, talked about this season of The Bachelorette.

When asked about the Garrett controversy, Mills said ABC doesn’t have “all the facts.” Instagram account was “alleged.”

“In the case of the Garrett thing, first of all, like you said, it’s an alleged account, and it’s likes, it’s not things he’s actually posted, which are things you actually can’t scrub for unless the person has a certain number of followers.”

Mills went on to say that the situation is “starting to be looked into, and addressed’ but he didn’t say what would happen.

ABC execs probably don’t know what to do considering Garrett makes it really, really far this season.

“It is starting to be looked into, and addressed,” Mills told ET, “but I don’t think anything has been definitive yet. … It’s kind of hard to do anything now when the show has been shot, but I think that we will certainly look into how we would address this on the show once we get all the facts.”

If you’re not up to speed on Garrett’s social media scandal, here’s the latest, including some screenshots of his alleged Instagram likes.

We’ll see how this plays out when The Bachelorette finale airs in August.
