Filming for Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette is well underway, but fans may be in for one of the strangest seasons yet.

The Bachelorette star Becca Kufrin met 28 guys during the first night of filming two weeks ago. The cast and crew have now started traveling outside of L.A., bringing Becca one step closer to the final rose ceremony.

However, this may turn out to be an extra-emotional season and there are some questions as to whether Becca is ready for a new relationship. ABC executive Robert Mills isn’t 100 percent certain if she’s over Arie and sasy season 14 could be “one of the stranger seasons” of the Bachelorette.

Is Becca ready to find love?

Kufrin made it clear that she was ready to move on, even forgiving Arie for the uncomfortable on-screen breakup. She seemed excited when she met a few of her guys during the After the Final Rose, but things may be different now that she’s filming the show.

Robert Mills, an ABC’s exec in charge of The Bachelor franchise, tells Variety that producers approached Becca about the Bachelorette gig in mid-February, just weeks after Arie broke off their engagement.

Mill says it was a slow process because her feelings about Arie were “still raw.”

She made the decision just a few days before the After the Final Rose special aired on ABC, so she did take some time to make the decision.

Mills also states that although her family is supportive, they may have cautioned her about jumping “right back into a show that caused her so much heartbreak.”

When asked by Variety what he thinks Becca’s season will be like, he seemed to indicate that it could be a rocky one.

“This could be one of the stranger seasons of The Bachelorette because she might not truly be over Arie and it may not work — I certainly hope it does, and we will do everything we possibly can to make sure it does, but you just don’t know. It certainly is a chance worth taking.”

The Bachelorette premieres May 28 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
