Arie Luyendyk is getting paid to hand out roses, but he didn’t take the Bachelor gig because he needed extra cash.

It’s totally possible that Arie Luyendyk is really looking for love, not fame, during his season of The Bachelor. Although he gets paid by ABC to date 29 women, and travel around the world, his bank account before he took the gig was already pretty impressive.

There is no doubt that Arie is enjoying the attention he’s getting while his season of The Bachelor airs on Monday nights. He’s making the rounds doing promotional appearances, including a stint on Jimmy Kimmel, and enjoying other perks that go along with being the leading man on ABC’s popular reality show. However, once we did a little research about Arie’s net worth, it made us a little less skeptical about his motives for being The Bachelor.

Although there is some online gossip about Arie being a bit of a ladies man, he seems to be pretty genuine about finding love and settling down. He even got an endorsement from the girl who dumped him on national TV — former Bachelorette Emily Maynard praised Arie on Twitter during the season premiere.

“Wishing @ariejr all the best this season and hoping he finds his forever love at the end! These girls got a wonderful guy!”

Arie is 36-years-old, so maybe he’s ready to kick the single life to the curb, get married, and start a family. He certainly doesn’t have to worry about money.

According to Business Insider, most of the recent Bachelor and Bachelorette leads are paid about $100,000 to hand out roses. They make even more money after the show for paid appearances and social media promotions.

Although that’s a nice chunk of change, it’s not exactly a major windfall for Arie. The former race car driver, who works as a real estate agent when he’s not looking for love on TV, is said to be worth between $4-5 million.

Celebrity Net Worth says Arie is worth around $4 million, and The Richest List says he’s worth closer to $5 million. Either way, that’s a lot of cash.

Most of his money came from racing, but he also worked as a commentator and driver analyst.

In addition, he was paid to appear on Hell’s Kitchen (season 9), and made promotional appearances after he got dumped on the Bachelorette five years ago.

It’s safe to say Arie is financially secure. Time will tell if he will be sharing his good fortune with one of the ladies competing for his final rose on the Bachelor.
