Rachel Lindsay says Vanessa Grimaldi called her a ‘bully’ during Bachelor Nick’s season

There was some bad blood between Rachel Lindsay and Vanessa Grimaldi during Nick’s season of the Bachelor. Now we know why.

It’s been a year since Rachel Lindsay taped the Bachelor Season 21. Although Nick dumped her, everything turned out a-okay for the Bachelorette star who quickly moved on and got engaged to Bryan Abasolo on the Bachelorette.

Although she has moved on, many fans have wondered what really went down between Rachel and Vanessa during Nick’s season. There were several rumors circulating some bad blood between the two ladies but it wasn’t until now that Rachel spilled the details on her non-friendship with Nick’s final pick.

Earlier this week, Danielle “DLo” Lombard, who also appeared on Nick’s season, gave some details about the feud between Rachel and Vanessa. Once that information got out, Rachel followed up with her side of the story.

During a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) earlier this week, DLo revealed said, “Vanessa called Rachel something that was extremely derogatory. From what I heard it was bad. Vanessa had to be separated for the rest of the show.”

Of note, DLo also said Vanessa “tried to get everyone in the house” to hate her — apparently, it wasn’t just Rachel who was on Vanessa s**t list.

Rachel speaks out

One day after DLo spoke out about Vanessa, the folks at Entertainment Tonight asked Rachel what happened. As we all know, Rachel isn’t afraid to make her voice heard.

We’re not sure why she waited so long to talk about this but maybe she couldn’t say anything while the Bachelor and Bachelorette aired on ABC.

Rachel told ET she distanced herself from Vanessa when they were filming the Bachelor. But that didn’t stop Vanessa from calling her out about her attitude.

Vanessa told me that I used ‘aggressive’ tones with her,” Vanessa told ET. “I was very upset by that. There are so many stereotypes placed on African-American women.”

Rachel went on to say that Vanessa called her a “bully” something that she thought was offensive.

“She called me a ‘bully’, and for her to use that phrase was offensive to me. She had no examples to match it . . . I also felt as a special education teacher who works with children, she was using the word frivolously.”

Both ladies have strong personalities, so it’s not shocking to hear that they butted heads when they were on the Bachelor.
