Chris Harrison says Bachelor Arie is a good man, but Arie’s former friend doesn’t think so

Chris Harrison says Season 22 The Bachelor Arie Luyendyk, Jr. is a “good man”, but one of Arie’s former co-stars doesn’t agree.

Bachelor fans were shocked when Arie Luyendyk, Jr. was introduced as the next Bachelor earlier this month. Peter Kraus was expected to get the gig but it looks like he may be heading to the Bachelor Winter Games instead. Hey, competing in a snowball making is better than getting engaged after two dates, right?

Fans who didn’t watch the Bachelorette five years ago probably have no dea who Arie is. Rest assured, you’re going to get to know the 36-year-old race car driver, for better or for worse.

Will Arie prove naysayers wrong?

Host Chris Harrison calls Arie a “good man” but at least one guy in the Bachelor family has some harsh things to say the runner-up from Bachelorette Emily Maynard’s season.

Chris tells People Arie has “many of the qualities” needed to become a successful The Bachelor star.  “First of all, he’s a good friend of mine,” Chris said. “He’s a good man, he’s a gentleman.”

And many fans agree. He’s a good looking guy and has the support of Emily Maynard. It’s been rumored Emily didn’t want to send him home (he apparently left the Bachelorette because he found out Emily slept with Jef Holm). Despite the drama that went down in 2012, Maynard has nothing but praise for Arie.

“I can’t think of a better person to be The Bachelor than Arie and I’ve been hoping this day would come since Season 8 ended!” Emily told Us Weekly. “He’s a gentleman through and through and all the girls on his season are lucky to have him.”

Emily’s ex, Jef Holm, doesn’t feel the same.

Jef Holm ended his friendship with Arie

Back in 2012, Arie told Us Weekly he was “really good friends” with Jef during and after Emily’s season of The Bachelorette.

Years later, that’s not the case anymore.

Minutes after Arie was announced as the next Bachelor, Jef Holm made it clear via a tweet that he “stopped being friends” with Arie “years ago” because he’s “disgusting.”

Whoa!

There’s plenty of dirt that’s starting to come out about the girls Arie has supposedly hooked up with. But Jef has no room to talk. He’s been linked to one of the girls both Ben Higgins and Robby Hayes hooked up. According to Reality Steve, Jef also had a fling with Kristina Schulman before she went on Bachelor in Paradise.

If anything, the upcoming season of The Bachelor is going to be a controversial one. Stay tuned!
