The Bachelor in Paradise two-night premiere airs Monday night on ABC. There’s a ‘very different’ season ahead, according to Chris Harrison.
By now, Bachelor Nation is well-aware of the craziness that happened in Sayulia, Mexico just days after filming started. During this week’s two-night Bachelor in Paradise premiere, Chris Harrison promises fans will have all their questions answered about the DeMario-Corinne incident.
And there’s more! The first two episodes will play out differently than they have during past seasons. Some of it will be a total downer, but there is at least one segment fans will love. Here’s what you can expect during nights one and two — spoiler free.
Chris Harrison won’t greet contestants right away
In past seasons, the show normally kicks off with Chris greeting the first round of contestants as they arrive in Paradise. Not this time.
Chris will turn his attention to Bachelor Nation first. Walking alone on the beach (without a mimosa!?), he will get everyone up to speed about the incident that almost cut this season short.
The long-time show host tells the Hollywood Reporter he will “try to explain” what happened during the days that led up to the shutdown. Viewers will see everything that happened right up until the moment producers sent everyone home.
Well, almost everything.

Chris Harrison says fans will see everything, including Corinne and DeMario‘s interaction on the first day of filming.
However, we won’t see EVERYTHING because that would be considered soft-core porn. ABC is owned by Disney, so that’s not happening.
And Papa Harrison makes it clear — we won’t see footage of Corinne and DeMario’s sexual encounter.
That’s something we don’t want to see. Ever.
Harrison says the moments leading up to their romp in the pool will provide “great insight” and answer lingering questions about the alleged sexual misconduct.
The cast returns and it’s awkward
At some point during the first two episodes, the cast will return to Paradise after their two-week hiatus. Chris says it’s an awkward situation. Some relationships that started out during the first few days of filming don’t fare well when filming resumes.
"When we came back, there is the piecing of it all together. You’ll see that as well, the awkwardness. Some relationships got stronger and survived, some completely disintegrated, and there were different perspectives."
Clearly, the shut-down, although temporary, plays a big part in the first few episodes. But moving forward, Chris Harrison promises that we’ll “forget all about it” when the first two or three episodes have aired.
Well, we’ll forget about it until Corinne and DeMario appear on the live Bachelor in Paradise reunion special that airs right after the finale in September. That will be interesting. Or, by then, we’ll be tired of hearing about their dip in the pool.
Carly and Evan get married
Finally, some good news.
Carly Waddell and Evan Bass tied the knot while the Paradise cast was on hiatus. Fans will see their wedding (and some Bachelor alum!) play out on TV during Tuesday night’s episode. Watch a sneak peek of their ceremony here.
