Rachel Lindsay totally contradicts herself when asked about next Bachelor, disses Peter again
By Ruby Maxwell
Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay seems to think just about anyone other than Peter should be the next Bachelor. Even if they’re not a good fit for the show.
Rachel Lindsay is happily engaged to Bryan Abasolo so why should she care who the next Bachelor is? During Monday’s After the Final Rose ceremony, the Bachelorette star hinted that Peter isn’t ready to become ABC’s next leading man. Then she went on to endorse contestant Alex Bordyuko for the gig after stating the process wasn’t for him. WHAT!?
The problem is, she totally contradicted herself when she explained why Peter should not get the gig and Alex should. The Bachelorette star, who says she is totally in love with her fiancé, seems to be making it her mission to make sure Peter doesn’t grace our TV screens as the next Bachelor. Here’s what she had to say about Alex and Peter.
Alex was eliminated during episode 6 and we’re not sure Rachel kissed him. Can’t even recall if they had a one-on-one date.
Peter made it to the final two (I’m still crying). It’s my guess he would have been Rachel’s final pick if he gave in and got engaged after 4 dates.
Yet, the Bachelorette star thinks Alex would make a great Bachelor. And it just doesn’t make sense considering her statements about both Peter and Alex are almost the same.
Here’s what Rachel had to say about Alex
“I don’t think that this [The Bachelorette] was for him — it was hard for him to open up knowing there were all these other men. But I think as a Bachelor he would be fantastic.”
Here’s what she said to Peter on After the Final Rose:
“I just don’t think this world, this process, this journey, this show…like I just don’t think it’s for you. Like, you need more time, you need to see things through.”
WHAT?!
Enlighten me here. If Rachel thinks the Bachelorette was not a good way for Alex to find love, why would he make a great Bachelor? She said basically the same thing about Peter.
Oh, and if Bachelor producers don’t pick Alex (they won’t), Rachel told Entertainment Tonight the gig should go to a guy from JoJo’s season. Anyone but Peter, or so it seems.
Seriously, I need Bachelor in Paradise to begin right now so I can stop dissecting the biggest breakup in Bachelorette history.
On the flip side, I’m fairly certain Peter will be the next Bachelor despite what Rachel suggests. And that means cozy winter (Monday) nights on the couch with a glass of wine and Peter on my TV. Bliss.
Next: Rachel's reaction to Bryan's proposal was cringeworthy!
