What ‘The Bachelorette’ Rachel said to Bryan during his proposal is cringeworthy

Bryan Abasolo proposed to Rachel Lindsay during the Bachelorette finale. Let’s discuss her cringeworthy response to Bryan’s proposal.

What a night. Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay ended a rather lackluster season with some serious drama. Peter cried. Rachel said, “see ya'” and sprinted to the top of a castle to meet Bryan at the final rose ceremony. It was windy as hell. And the whole proposal was about as authentic as Rachel’s lashes.

Okay, that was catty. But I’m confused. She was totally into Peter until he made it clear he wasn’t ready to propose. Mostly because he knows that song, “You Can’t Hurry Love.” But this isn’t about Peter. It’s about Rachel’s reaction when Bryan opened the ring box during his proposal. It was weird. Let’s discuss.

The wind was blowing. Dirt from the castle was flying around. It wasn’t all that romantic. We were getting the vibe that Rachel just wanted to get to the engagement part so she could scream, “I have fiancé.”

The most shocking moment in Bachelorette history?

When Bryan got down on one knee, I was trying to see if he was sweaty. As in Josh Murray sweaty.

But Bryan was a sweat-free. Mostly because he started rehearsing his proposal months before he met Rachel. Kidding. But he was ready to propose when he arrived at the mansion.

It was all a blur because I was still crying about Peter. But I did hear a few words that made me think Rachel was just in it to win herself a fiancé .

“Give it to me!”

Four words that didn’t sound right coming out of Rachel’s mouth when Bryan opened the ring box — “Give it to me!”

Was she channeling her inner Joe “Gimme dat Rose” Bailey (Bachelor in Paradise 2)??

Okay, she was excited. We’ll give her that. At least she could have added the word “please” to her demand.

Rachel made it clear (all season) she didn’t want a boyfriend — she wanted to leave the show with a husband-to-be and a ring on her finger.

Did it really matter who gave her the ring?

If Peter made it to the top of the castle first and told her he was ready to get engaged, would she have accepted his proposal?

And why, “give it to me?” That didn’t sound genuine.

So many questions, not enough wine.

Overthinking things as usual…
