The Bachelor episode 4 spoiler recap: Maria and Sydney's two-on-one, a fed-up Joey, and more!
By Diana Nosa
Some of the remaining women of The Bachelor season 28 are playing mind games with our leading man, Joey Graziadei, and he's putting a stop to people not being here for the right reasons.
Warning: Major Bachelor spoilers are up ahead!
As it stands now, Joey is in the middle of the beef with Maria Georgas and Sydney Gordon, as his final verdict dictates who will thrive in the season for a little while longer and who will probably get the boot. Some fans see where Sydney is coming from. However, an overwhelming number of fans are Team Maria. But where will Joey stand when it's all said and done?
In addition to the Maria and Sydney situation, there's so much in store for tonight's episode, including a special trip to Malta! We're here to give you a quick rundown on what you can expect from The Bachelor season 28 episode 4.
Check it out below!
We travel back to the medieval times for this week's group date!
Joey trades a tennis racket for a sword!
As per Reality Steve, during the first group date in Malta, the chosen ladies head over to a knightly fort to have a sword fight of the ages. But since these contestants are all filled with valor and willpower, Joey had to take it a step further and decided that the person who could catch the most sausages with their mouth would be crowned the winner and would receive extra time to spend with him.
Autumn Waggoner came through as the winner of the sausage competition and received some quality time with Joey that helped their relationship in the long term. But as for the winner of the entire medieval group date, Reality Steve isn't too clear whether Rachel Nance or Kelsey Toussant won the group date.
Even so, based on the teaser trailer for week 4, our gut is leading us to believe that Rachel was the group date pick!
A one-on-one date with locals in Malta!
As for our week 4 one-on-one date, Joey chose Lexi Young to embark with him on a date in a lively small tourist town in Malta! There, the two meet a lot of talented local individuals, including some musicians, artists, and, our favorite, dancers.
Inspired by the dancers, Joey and Lexi share a quick special dance during their exciting afternoon. However, at night, the pair switch to a more calm vibe, sharing an intimate date under the stars. Joey and Lexi hit it off extremely well here, leading us to believe that this may be a duo the fans may come to love this week and onward.
Just when Joey thought everything and everyone was in the right place, he was hit with the very sudden reminder that there was still a looming dark cloud over the house's head. He deals with this once and for all.
Joey chooses a side
Joey can only see things from his own eyes, so, unlike the audience, Joey doesn't know whether Sydney or Maria is telling the truth. Both are very convincing and both seem to not be very mean people at their core, making it all the more difficult for Joey to know who to continue this journey with.
Coupled with the information he received from both women, he had to go with his gut and decided to send Sydney Gordon packing during a two-on-one sit-down between all three of them. This was teased in the preview for this week, so there's no doubt that fans can't wait to see this two-on-one go down.
Sydney wasn't the only one sent packing, as Joey eliminated Edwina Dorbor and Allison Hollinger, too.
This week is a special one for The Bachelor because we're getting both episode 4 and episode 5! That's right — not only is there a new episode this evening, but there's another one airing tomorrow night, too.
With tonight's episode, we are down to 12 contestants left! Also, we're approaching the halfway point of the season! Exciting things are on the way and we don't want you to miss out on a single thing, so be sure to head to ABC tonight, Feb. 12, at 8:00 p.m. ET to check out what's in store!
