Get comfortable: Here's how long The Golden Bachelor wedding special runs

Miss The Golden Bachelor already? The ABC franchise debuted a new show in 2023 that had viewers all around the country swooning, ending in lead Gerry Turner getting engaged to contestant Theresa Nist. The show worked just about the same as the flagship series, except the ladies vying for Gerry's love were all in their 60s and 70s, more mature in their lives and knowing exactly what they wanted. The series proved to be very wholesome — though eyebrows were raised over a scathing report about Gerry — and Bachelor Nation is already begging for a season of The Golden Bachelorette.

Well, we haven't heard an official word about The Golden Bachelorette happening, but fans of the franchise have reason to tune into ABC tonight to see a very heartfelt live special. This evening, we'll get to watch with all of America as Gerry and Theresa say their vows and "I do"s. That's right — Gerry and Theresa will be tying the knot this evening in front of the world to see. How exciting!

Gerry and Theresa's wedding special is two hours long

Get your popcorn ready and comfortable clothes on because the special will go for a longer runtime than typical episodes of The Golden Bachelor did. Starting at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC, Gerry and Theresa's wedding special will run for two hours, ending at 10:00 p.m. ET.

According to ABC's schedule, another special will air after the big wedding with the new General Hospital: 60 Years of Stars and Storytelling program scheduled to start at 10:00 p.m. ET and run until 11:00 p.m. ET. Local news will play after that.

The Golden Bachelor didn't end that long ago but we still feel like we have so much to catch up on when it comes to Gerry and Theresa! We want to know what life has been like for them after the cameras stopped rolling, how they've been able to blend their families if at all, and what other plans they have ahead. In a cover story for People Magazine, Gerry says the wedding will be “very elegant but not stuffy.” Theresa joked of their big day, “We just hope that we say the vows correctly!”

Another exciting part about tonight's wedding special is that a familiar face will serve as the officiant. The Golden Bachelor contestant and fan-favorite Susan Noles will be marrying the reality TV couple!
