Ever since Gerry Turner and Leslie Fhima first met on The Golden Bachelor, it seemed like a match made in heaven. They’re both very gentle, kind-hearted, and down-to-earth people who connect on levels that few share. Moreover, whenever they’re together (be it in a one-on-one conversation or catching one another’s attention during a group date), they always find a way to share glances or make some heartfelt memories.

But, unfortunately, these shared moments eventually came to an end, as this pair didn’t see it fit to continue their relationship past the final weeks of the ABC reality TV show. Here’s why.

Leslie makes it far on The Golden Bachelor, but not far enough!

As reported by Reality Steve, one of Bachelor Nation’s most trusted sources, Leslie Fhima did make it to the final three and then the final two women in Gerry’s journey to find the one. However, after Faith Martin was eventually sent home, leaving only Leslie and Theresa Nist, the leading man decided that Theresa was the person he wanted to continue a relationship with post-Golden Bachelor.

That means during the finale tonight, Gerry will send Leslie home and will choose Theresa. According to Reality Steve, Gerry and Theresa also get engaged.

Some viewers were gutted to hear this spoiler ahead of the finale, as they really thought Leslie was the person for Gerry. What’s more, fans believed Leslie would be the final pick after she shared some sweet posts about Gerry Turner (one post had a caption that referred to him as “Ger Bear”). It seems that this was nothing short of an exchange between friends with a lengthy (and steamy) history.

Leslie may not have gone as far as fans have wanted, but there’s a chance that this fan-favorite could return to our TV screens much sooner than we think, especially since fans are dying to have her as a Golden Bachelorette. “Would LOVE to see you as the first Golden Bachelorette,” one commenter wrote underneath an adorable picture of Leslie and Gerry. “You deserve to [choose] YOUR perfect mate [wink emoji].”

Perhaps this fan (as well as many fans who agree) will have their dream come true! We’ll find out soon enough! But for now, Bachelor Nation is more than glad to have met someone as amazing as Leslie! And of course, we’re very happy for Theresa and Gerry. Don’t miss the two-hour Golden Bachelor finale tonight, Thursday, Nov. 30 at 8:00 p.m. ET, which will no doubt be emotional.
