The Bachelor Season 27, Episode 1 recap: The night it all began

The wait is finally over! It has been 125 days since Zach Shallcross debuted for The Bachelor Season 27. It was announced during the After the Final Rose show, which concluded Rachel Recchia’s and Gabby Windey’s season of The Bachelorette. To spice things up, Zach even met five women from his upcoming season, which hadn’t started filming.

1. Welcome to The Bachelor

The build-up to the beginning of this season was intense. Jesse Palmer returns to host his second The Bachelor season and kicked things off for us tonight. The first few minutes give a synopsis of the season, and through all the drama, it seems that Zach does find a woman to propose to in the end. He went far enough to say he found his best friend.

Zach met up with Sean Lowe from The Bachelor Season 17 to get his thoughts on the process since Sean has been happily married for nine years with three children. He wants to model his love life after his parents have shown him what a healthy, loving relationship looks like. Sean offered advice and trained him to take the title of most shirtless bachelor.

2. And so it Begins

Some women were featured in the opening package before we kicked things off with Zach and Jesse at the mansion. The first woman to meet Zach was Jess, who had a nice conversation with Zach before heading inside. Next up was Ariel, who noted the trials and tribulations she faced on the way to his season. Charity came after and had a conversation with Zach. Davia came out of the limo next, brought champagne to lighten the mood, and toasted with The Bachelor.

Up next was Gabi, who brought Zach some maple syrup from Vermont, which he had to drink. This left a bad taste in his mouth. Greer brought Zach coffee from New York to keep his energy up through the night. A few more women met Zach before he saw a familiar face in Cat, who he met during the After the Final Rose ceremony. This was also the first time the women met each other, knowing that some had already met him.

Brooklyn was next, who he also met during After the Final Rose. She was remembered for cursing on live television when she met Zach for the first time. Bailey, who Zach forgot her name during the show, was next and wore a nametag so Zach wouldn’t forget. Not only did he remember her name, but he remembered to kiss her when she got out of the limo.
