I’m sure we all remember who Sarah Trott is. She was on Matt James‘ season of The Bachelor, although not for long. She only made it through four episodes of the show, but her time on the show was still certainly memorable.

A few years before getting on the show, her father, Tom Trott, was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Given that she was her dad’s main caregiver, she had to make the tough decision to even come on the show in the first place. Ultimately, she decided to leave early as she had much more important things to worry about at home, rather than bicker over a guy with many other catty women.

Sarah Trott is a Bachelor franchise hero!

During one of the rose ceremonies, Trott ended up fainting. The other ladies in the house decided now was not the time to show her some sympathy. Instead, they showed their deep levels of irritation as they felt that her fainting did nothing but take Matt away from them for far too long (it didn’t, but you know how these ladies get on this show, am I right).

Before coming onto the show, she quit her job as a TV newscaster/radio host to help her Spanish teacher’s mother care for her father.

Her father was her greatest and biggest cheerleader, but before she knew it, it ended up being the other way around. She ended up taking care of her father nearly full-time, helping him do the things he could no longer do, much like he did for her when she was younger.

Unfortunately, just nine months after she left the show, Tom passed away in October 2021. She never regretted leaving; she said being on the show allowed her to bring awareness of ALS to those unfamiliar with the horrific disease.

Last month, November, was National Caregiver Month. In honor and memory of her father, Tom, she hosted a pub crawl in Pacific Beach just the night before Thanksgiving. This lovely event allowed other caregivers to unwind and have some deep emotional support from other caregivers.

In addition to the work she did with, and for her late father, she also supports multiple ALS-related charities. Her biggest accomplishment? She just so happens to sit on the board of Hope Loves Company, which is a charity that helps children of ALS parents get emotional support.

Surprisingly, we’re not done talking about the continued work that Trott is doing. She’s also digital and influencer marketing director for Aidaly, a service that ‘helps family home caregivers get paid for their work.’

Will will Sarah be on another trip to Bachelor Nation? According to her, she hasn’t quite shut the door yet on doing something within the franchise. She’s still single and oh so hopelessly romantic. I think she’d be a refreshing addition to Paradise! Thoughts?

dark. Next. Matt James sets “personal record” at Boston Marathon

That’s a wrap on Sarah Trott and all of her amazing work! And it never stops!

What are your thoughts on Sarah Trott and all of the work that she’s been doing to support children and families with family members with ALS? Great job, Sarah. Keep it up, girl!
