Matt James spoke with Accept This Rose recently about his collaboration with Vita Coco Coconut Juice and an exciting, fun roadside experience known as The World’s Biggest Coconut. Yes, that is exactly what it sounds like; there was indeed a HUGE coconut on the side of the road in Dallas.

This was to celebrate the collaboration between James and Vita Coco Coconut Juice and a reason to partake in some random festivities. Matt had a lot to say about the whole experience, which recently occurred in Dallas from July 22-July 24.

Check out our conversation below (which took place after the event), and snag some Vita Coco Coconut Juice while you do.

Matt James talks Vita Coco Coconut Juice and The World’s Biggest Coconut

Accept This Rose: The world’s biggest coconut?! Tell us more about this event and what it entails exactly.

Matt James: The World’s Biggest Coconut by Vita Coco was a fun roadside experience in Dallas to celebrate the launch of Vita Coco Coconut Juice. There was a pop-up event with an inflatable coconut that was over three stories tall!! Plus we enjoyed outdoor games, and local food trucks got limited-edition, and beat the heat with the coconut experience. Everything is bigger in Texas, including the World’s Biggest Coconut experience by Vita Coco!

ATR: Will you guys be handing out coconut juice at the event? If so, what flavors can attendees look forward to?

Matt James: Absolutely! Vita Coco Coconut Juice just launched this summer, so the World’s Biggest Coconut was our opportunity to introduce it to people who haven’t gotten to try it yet in Dallas. It’s a refreshing blend of coconut water and a burst of tropical flavor and comes in two flavors – Original with Pulp and Mango. My favorite is Mango, but you really can’t go wrong with either. I am a tried-and-true Vita Coco fan and love Vita Coco Juice best on the go on a hot summer day, like during these record-breaking temperatures we’re experiencing.

ATR: How did you get involved with this event?

Matt James: I have a long-standing relationship with Vita Coco. I have always been a fan of their products, and once we connected, I realized there was so much we could do together. We share many of the same values, from entrepreneurship to social impact to health and wellness.

It has been almost two years since I became one of Vita Coco’s Real Partners. I get to join in fun events like the World’s Biggest Coconut Experience and support product launches like Vita Coco Juice. I even just got back from a team trip to the Philippines to see where they source their coconuts. I met their coconut farmers and got a better understanding of their entire production process. It’s amazing to see their mission and company ethos come to life.

Naturally, when I heard about The World’s Biggest Coconut, I had to see it for myself and support the new launch of Vita Coco Juice.

ATR: We’ve read that you use coconut water as the base for your smoothies! Can we expect some of your infamous smoothies at the roadside experience?

Matt James: Unfortunately, I didn’t whip up my own smoothies at the event. But I always start my smoothies with Vita Coco and add in frozen fruits, peanut butter and so on. My go-to is Vita Coco Pressed. I find that as I get older my body doesn’t take to dairy as well, so I love using coconut water as an alternative.

ATR: What will you be doing at the event?

Matt James: I hung out with the team and Dallas fans! It was great to enjoy the event with everyone, and we hopefully created some loyal Vita Coco Coconut Juice fans. I won a lot at Connect Four.

ATR: Where can fans get more information about the event?

Matt James: Check out the event website and RSVP at https://events.vitacoco.com/ biggestcoconut.

ATR: Do you plan to incorporate your nonprofit, ABC Food Tours, with this event? If so, in what capacity?

Matt James: Last year I worked with Vita Coco to create an ABC Food Tours event for our students in New York.  We brought them to the office to meet and speak to Co-Founder Mike Kirban and Chief Coconut Officer, Halima Aden. It was so amazing and impactful to talk with the kids about wellness and entrepreneurship, and we’ll definitely be working together on something similar in the future.

Dallas is also definitely on our mood board as a place we want to expand since it’s one of the biggest cities in the country.

ATR: How has life been post-The Bachelor for you?

Matt James: It’s been relaxing. I’ve been loving partnering with fun brands that are doing great things in the world. It’s a nice change of pace and I’m very happy.

ATR: We love seeing you and Rachael together! How have things been for you guys since being on the show?

Matt James: We’ve been great! We actually just got back from Disneyland, so you could say things have been magical.
