The Bachelor Season 1: Alex Michel

Alex Michel kicked off the first season of The Bachelor in 2002 with 25 contestants in waiting. The 31-year-old management consultant set out to be the first man to find love on national television. In the shortest season of The Bachelor (only six weeks), Alex thought he found his true love in Amanda Marsh. Although he didn’t propose in the end, they continued their relationship. Sadly they called it quits after a few months.

Amanda went on to marry her childhood friend and had a daughter together. Alex stepped out of the limelight and lived a more private life. He returned to the business world and worked on several media projects. According to Women’s Health Magazine, during that time he was a spokesperson for Match.com and Princess Cruises. According to his LinkedIn page, he now works as a Managing Director at General Consulting. Since he stays off social media it’s unclear whether he is currently in a relationship.
