Following last week’s dramatic episode and the self-elimination of frontrunner Greg GrippoThe Bachelorette season 17 comes to a close tonight with what promises to be an unforgettable Bachelorette finale event.

Of course, all eyes are on what Katie Thurston will do after Greg’s decision to leave the show at the eleventh hour in an elimination no one saw coming. Will she continue her journey after Greg’s exit or will she choose to walk away from the show entirely, rather than choosing to be with either Blake Moynes or Justin Glaze?

Needless to say, it’s going to be a memorable episode but the real question heading into finale night this evening is whether we’ll get to see Katie’s reaction to the events of the final episodes and confront Greg in the After the Final Rose special.

After ABC skipped the After the Final Rose festivities in season 16, many are wondering if ABC will take a similar route this season or whether the special will finally return and, if so, when. Below we share everything we know about this year’s After the Final Rose plans.

Is there an After the Final Rose special after The Bachelorette season 17 finale?

After ABC chose to cut the After the Final Rose special last season on The Bachelorette, there has been an unsureness among fans as to whether the special would be returning for season 17. Although ABC has not blocked out a special timeslot for the episode, there will indeed be an After the Final Rose event airing tonight after the season 17 finale!

As teased by ABC, at the conclusion of Katie’s journey, hosts Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams will sit down with Katie and her final three — that’s right, Greg will be back! — to reflect upon the events of the final days in the journey. Given how intense the season’s final episodes were, there is likely to be a lot to unload during the After the Final Rose special!

When is the After the Final Rose for Katie Thurston’s season airing?

This year’s After the Final Rose special is expected to begin airing at 10/9c on ABC. Rather than appearing as its own block on the ABC schedule, ABC has instead opted for one 3-hour Bachelorette listing which is likely to cause some confusion among fans.

The first two hours of tonight’s episode are expected to be the season 17 finale, while the final hour will serve as the After the Final Rose event.
