The Bachelorette Season 17, Episode 7 recap: Katie’s hometown picks
Last night’s episode of The Bachelorette Season 17 had plenty of laughter and love, but there was heartbreak too. Katie Thurston sent home three contestants in preparation for hometowns next week.
Greg Grippo had the first one on one date this week. Many of the guys were jealous since this was Greg’s second individual date. Everyone wanted reassurance from Katie since hometown dates were right around the corner.
Katie set up a pseudo-Pike Place Market as a homage to her hometown in Seattle–she called it ‘Katie’s Place’. They tossed a massive fish, which led to a little bit of destruction. Katie and Greg had a great time with the different activities. Their close connection continued during the evening, and Katie gave him a rose. She told the cameras that she was falling in love with Greg.
The group date was announced next, which revealed Mike P. as the next person to have a solo date with Katie. Brendan Scanzano went to Katie’s room to express his concern since he was the only one without a one-on-one date. Katie stopped him in the middle of the conversation and said that she didn’t think she had enough time to advance their relationship at this stage. Brendan went home after that.
During the group date, Blake Moynes, Michael A., Andrew S., and Justin had to view a sexual art exhibit from the artist Jacqueline Secor. They created unique art pieces for Katie and then had a cocktail hour in the evening. Katie had great conversations with all four men, but there was only one rose to give out. After thinking it over, Katie gave Michael the rose.
Mike and Katie’s date was with a cuddling expert. There were lots of hugs, giggles, and cuddles. Mike commented on Katie giving better cuddles than his mom. They connected more on a physical level, but Katie still had concerns. She decided to send Mike home because she had more profound connections with other guys.
The Bachelorette Season 17 says goodbye to [SPOILER]
Going into the rose ceremony, Katie had two roses to give and three men remaining. Blake received the first rose, and then Katie had to choose between Andrew S. and Justin. She gave Justin the last rose and reluctantly said goodbye to Andrew. Katie and Andrew shed many tears, but they didn’t have any hard feelings when Andrew departed.
Katie questioned her decision to send Andrew home the next day. Andrew showed up in her room and wanted a more positive goodbye. They hugged, and Andrew gave her a letter before leaving. Katie became instantly emotional reading his note and chased after him. She asked him to stay, but Andrew said he felt hurt in that place and left.
