Last night’s episode of The Bachelorette Season 17 had one hilarious group date and a very dramatic rose ceremony. Katie said goodbye to a few guys but added a new one to the house as well.

The only date this week was a truth or date group date. The challenges included eating a ton of carbs and hot peppers, whispering sweet nothings in Katie’s ear, and waxing each other. The night events focused on Katie having more individual time with each guy.

But she felt blindsided when told that Thomas originally joined the cast because he wanted to be the next Bachelor. Tre, who told her about Thomas, received the group date rose, which surprised the other guys because they didn’t want the information about Thomas to cause new drama.

Katie was surprised when Tayshia met up with her to say someone from Tayshia’s season wanted to meet her. She was worried because Katie already had relationships developed with many of the men. But Katie still agreed to meet the guy, which was Blake Moynes. They had a heart-to-heart conversation, and Katie seemed like she wanted to let Blake stay.

The rest of this week’s The Bachelorette Season 17 episode focused on the cocktail party and rose ceremony. Katie sent home Christian Smith, Conor Costello, David Scott, and Thomas Jacobs. Yes, Thomas finally got the boot. But the way Katie sent Thomas home was the most shocking aspect of the episode.

She did a rose fakeout. Katie called Thomas up as if to give him a rose, stepped away from him, and called him selfish, unkind, and a liar. She said his Bachelor audition was over. The guys’ jaws dropped–and so did ours.

Katie desperately told the remaining guys that they should be there for the right reasons. She headed to Blake’s hotel room quickly after the rose ceremony and asked him to stay. Blake happily accepted her invitation.
