Let’s be honest here: whether we’re talking about the finale episode or the premiere episode, or legit every other week in between, there’s going to be some sort of drama, scandal, crying, blaming other guys, throwing other guys under the bus, etc. You name it, I promise you it will happen.
And with that in mind, let’s dive into this week’s episode of The Bachelorette Season 17 with none other than Katie Thurston herself!

*In case you haven’t seen The Bachelorette Season 17, Episode 3 yet, there may be some spoilers ahead, so beware!*
Okay, let’s talk…
If there’s an episode in franchise history that went as deep and personal, it was definitely this one. The first group date required each of the guys (and Katie) to share something personal, something that they normally wouldn’t want to talk about–yes, I cried, the guys cried, Katie cried, and let’s be honest: we all cried!
We’re (also) here to talk about it all with all of you, so be sure to engage down in the comments below and let us know what you think!
The Bachelorette Season 17, Episode 3: Heroes
#1: Christian
This week, Christian’s tiny bit of humor in regards to Karl really got to me in a good way. Here’s one thing he said that made me giggle: “If you/re gonna lie, then at least come up with something different than last night.”
Honestly, thank goodness Karl is gone, but he still made a complete a** of himself and really put a damper on the beginning of the episode. Byeeee!
#2: Greg
I’m not a Greg fan and probably never will be in all honesty; however, he was the only man to go up to Katie to check up on her in the beginning of the episode. He showed her (and all of us watching back at home) that he truly does care for her. Good for you, Greg (even though I don’t like you).
#3: Hunter
OMG….during the totally vulnerable group date situation, when Hunter started telling his story, I could tell how much he was hurting and how hard he’s been working in the years leading up to this to change himself and be a better man. I cried with him, and I’m proud of it. I’m also starting to like Hunter more and more each week; I hope he makes it far!
#4: Michael
I feel like, for me, he’ll always be on this list. There’s so much to say about him, yet I’m speechless as I write this. The pure way that he shows his love to Katie makes me wish, hope, and pray so hard that he’s the one for her. If not, then he deserves someone who’s willing to take him and his gorgeous son, James, in.
Michael, keep sharing yourself with Katie, and most importantly, keep being you. P.S. I like really want him to make it to hometowns so we have the chance of meeting his son….please!
Honorable Mentions
#5: Tre
He also added a bit of humor to this whole Karl situation by saying something along the lines of the following:
"“Are we in the Twilight Zone? Are we being punked?”"
#6: Mike
What he said about the guys all being in unity at the rose ceremony completely melted my heart and made me like him even more. Keep it up and keep being you Mike, because we all love it/you!
The Bachelorette Season 17, Episode 3: Villains
#1: Karl (Bye, Bye)
Since I’m so glad this monster’s gone and he doesn’t deserve a paragraph, I’ll share some bullet points that I have noted about him. Here they go:
- He put everyone on blast
- He’s an idiot
- He made Katie cry
- He’s such a f***ing coward and walked away after Katie canceled the cocktail party
- He’s super disrespectful
- He alone canceled the cocktail party with his dumb idiotic actions
- He’s a complete and utter d***h*** when he turned his back to Katie and left without saying goodye to her in any sort of way like the other man that went home did

He’s not necessarily a villain of this week, but all of his constant confessional commentaries just got me super annoyed. Oh well, y’all. Nothing much more to say about him. I don’t mind him, he’s not my favorite, but this week, for me, he just talked way too much!
Agree or disagree with me? Let’s chat!
That’s a wrap on this week’s list of heroes and villains!
