Katie Thurston promotes Michael Allio’s non-profit organization L4 for his late wife Laura

This week’s episode of The Bachelorette season 17 was an emotional one, to say the least. After hearing contestant Michael Allio open up about losing his wife Laura to breast cancer, fans were quick to pour out their admiration and appreciation towards such a strong and selfless man.

‘s eyes (and ours) as Michael told her about how devastated he was when he lost his wife, but how meeting Katie could make him fall in love all over again. These beautiful feelings of love did not stay in the confines of the reality TV series as Katie publicly showed her love for Michael by supporting his non-profit organization which honors Laura.

Our leading lady posted on her Instagram Story a photo of bracelets made by L4, the organization dedicated to helping people with cancer and their families, while bringing awareness to the beautiful life that Laura lived. (You can see a screenshot of Katie’s Instagram Story here.)

In addition to supporting Michael Allio’s non-profit, Katie brought awareness to RAINN on Instagram after the episode, a national confidential hotline with the mission to help those who’ve experienced sexual violence talk safely about their stories.

During last night’s episode, Katie Thurston opened up about her personal experience with non-consensual sex. She exhibited immense bravery as she told her story, a braveness that can also be seen in the life of Laura.

Our hearts are with both Michael Allio and Katie Thurston as they continue to raise awareness for such important topics while on their respective roads of recovery.
