We’re onto the second episode of The Bachelorette season 17, Bachelor Nation! After the exciting premiere filled with fun limo entrances and some quick connections, Katie Thurston began her dates in tonight’s episode, and of course the first had all to do with sex. Mike Planeta told Katie he was a virgin, Karl Smith became the annoying contestant in the house for fans watching at home, and Katie went on her first one-on-one with Greg Grippo.
So far, it seems Twitter is in love with Greg for his charm and sweetness, and fans are willing to protect Mike at all costs after he admitted to never having sex. But what does Katie think of her contestants? Well, although there wasn’t a rose ceremony during tonight’s episode, Katie did send one person home.
Katie had a particularly amazing night with Greg, who she went fishing with and opened up to about her dad, who passed away. As it turned out, Greg’s dad also passed away, and the two bonded over that. They ended their date with fireworks and a whole lot of kissing, and it was so adorable.
Who was eliminated on The Bachelorette?
Although Katie is forming some awesome connections so far, unfortunately not everyone can win. In tonight’s episode, here’s who went home:
- Cody Menk
Elsewhere in the episode, Thomas Jacobs received a rose on the first group date, and things got a little dirty when some of the men wrestled in the dirt during the second group date. Aaron Clancy and Cody Menk‘s feud intensified at the brawl, and Aaron opened up to Katie about knowing Cody from their hometown of San Diego. *Cue the accusations of not being there for the right reasons.*
Cody denied coming onto the show for fame, but it was too little too late. Katie told Cody she couldn’t trust him and so she sent him home before the rose ceremony. She then gave Andrew Spencer the second group date rose.
In the final minutes of the episode, Karl hinted to Katie that not all the guys in the house have good intentions, which was completely baseless. Katie then tearfully told the contestants that if they weren’t there for love or an engagement, they should leave.
Karl confessed to the guys that he was the one who said something, and understandably, everyone was super mad. And on that note, the episode ended before the rose ceremony. Anyone else get annoyed when it ends before the eliminations?!
Tune in every Monday night on ABC to see how The Bachelorette season 17 unfolds!
