The Bachelorette spoilers: Do Aaron Clancy and Cody Menk know each other?

The Bachelorette season 17 premiere featured a lot of memorable moments as Katie Thurston made her debut as ABC’s newest Bachelorette.

From cat costumes and a man who literally gifted himself to Katie to more sex puns that we needed this whole season the premiere definitely brought with it plenty of fun, bizarre and sweet moments as the season’s men looked to make a lasting first impression when meeting Katie for the first time.

The episode also saw the claws come out — and no we’re not just talking about Connor B, though the men didn’t seem to take too kindly to Catman stealing Katie’s attention on Night 1 — and featured a heated exchange between two men during the cocktail party that left fans feeling quite puzzled.

What happened between Aaron Clancy and Cody Menk on The Bachelorette?

During The Bachelorette season 17 premiere cocktail party, Aaron Clancy and Cody Menk came to verbal blows in an exchange that felt quite displaced and lacked context which left Bachelor Nation with lots of questions.

“I don’t like you bro. Like, I’ve never liked you. And that’s fine. We don’t have to talk at all. And it’s not my fault I don’t like you,” Aaron flat out told Cody.

Much like viewers at home, Cody too seemed caught by surprise by Aaron’s remarks and made it clear to Aaron that if there’s a problem between them it’s all on him. “Well, you don’t like me, so that is your fault,” Cody shot back before.

After Aaron doubled down on his dislike of Cody, telling him, “I’m literally just telling you exactly what’s up,” he walked away from the conversation.

“All right, I don’t agree with anything you said. I don’t think there was a need for that at all,” Cody chimed in as Aaron walked away clearly confused by Aaron’s decision to come at him and try to stir some drama on Night 1.

How do Aaron Clancy and Cody Menk know one another?

Following the heated exchange, ABC cut right back to the action leaving fans with many burning questions including what exactly led to the heated exchange between Aaron and Cody. Given the season has only just begun, it seems too early for there to already be bad blood between two contestants which seems to suggest the pair have met before their arrival this season.

Aaron and Cody both hail from San Diego and, as it’s recently been revealed to Accept this Rose, the pair actually happen to both have connections to Mammoth Labs Supplements, where they’ve each been featured in a variety of content!

As it was revealed to us, Aaron is actually the face of the brand’s Amazon listings and Preworkout Ad while Cody has been featured in promo videos such as the one above.

Given their shared connection to the brand, it’s likely the tension between the pair stems from their previous history in working in the same space and within the same circle. Given Cody’s elimination in episode 2, it’s unlikely we’ll learn more about the pair’s shared connection on the show but there’s always the Men Tell All Special which we imagine won’t shy away from the drama.
