And the drama has officially begun! Tonight marked the second episode of The Bachelorette season 17 with Katie Thurston, and things got seriously heated in the final moments of the show. Unfortunately, the episode didn’t end with a rose ceremony, and instead contestant Karl Smith decided to hijack the cocktail party. After hinting to Katie that not everyone was there for the right reasons, Katie couldn’t just let the comments go, which is understandable.

Though Karl didn’t have any examples to back up his claims, Katie had already begun to distrust some of the men during tonight’s episode after having a conversation with Aaron Clancy. After noticing Aaron and Cody Menk seemingly had beef during the second group date where they had to wrestle in mud (yes, seriously), Aaron explained that they were both from the same city and accused Cody of coming onto the show for fame.

Needless to say, it was a lot for Katie to deal with, and she ended up sending Cody home. On a brighter note, she did have a wonderful one-on-one date with Greg Grippo who is totally swoon-worthy, and gave out group date roses to Andrew Spencer and Thomas Jacobs.
