Is Matt James dating someone else after his split from Rachael Kirkconnell?

At the conclusion of The Bachelor season 25, Matt James was supposed to be leaving the show hand in engaged-hand with his soon-to-be wife riding off into the sunset together.

However, unfortunately, James ended the season unengaged and things only got even worse after his girlfriend and the final rose recipient, Rachael Kirkconnel, was involved in a super huge scandal.

Things certainly looked grim for the newly-formed couple and there was simply no coming back from such a mistake, but just because it didn’t work out for Matt James the first time, doesn’t mean that he’s sworn off love completely.

Who is Matt James dating?

Let’s do a process of elimination to make things interesting.

First and foremost, Matt James is not dating Rachael Kirkconnell again despite the two being spotted together in New York recently.

According to Us Weekly, the two were only together in New York because they constantly communicate platonically post-breakup about various things, and James is just trying his best to be there as a friend for Kirkconnell in the aftermath of her racially insensitive actions.

James is reportedly there to support Kirkconnell while still educating her on things surrounding race and how she can move forward from her mistake. In true Matt James fashion, he is said to appreciate Kirkconnel’s vulnerability and her willingness to hold herself accountable.

They’re reportedly only friends and nothing more, which eliminates Kirkconnell from the list.

Moving on to our next girl, Grace Amerling.

Matt James and Grace Amerling seem to have known each other for some time now. The two apparently were a thing in the past, and James even reportedly went so far as to ask Amerling to go on a vacation with him. With all this said, one would think that the two are dating, right?

The answer is…not what you expect.

Simply put, Matt James was reportedly seeing Grace Amerling at the same time that he was seeing Rachael Kirkconnell, and Amerling was not having it at all.

The New York trip mentioned earlier reportedly happened after Amerling denied James’ invitation to Miami with her, making Kirkconnell somewhat of a rebound. After Amerling saw the photos of James and Kirkconnell together, she allegedly reached out to the 24-year-old graphic designer and let her know of James’ double-mindedness.

Amerling later went on to interview with Reality Steve to publicly speak about the situation, stating:

"It just didn’t sit right with me. I just felt like Rachael was so in love with him and for him to be trying to contact me and hang out with me – someone he’s had past romantic relationships with – two days prior in Miami… I felt like I had to say something for Rachael’s sake."

Both Kirkconnell and Amerling have since split with Matt James, so who is he dating now?

As of right now, Matt James seems to be single and laying relatively low, but that may not be for long.
