The Bachelor season 25
(ABC/Craig Sjodin) THE BACHELOR /

After a whirlwind couple of weeks in Bachelor Nation, Episode 7 is in the books and we’ve finally made it to the Final Four of The Bachelor Season 25.

I haven’t produced the official Bachelor Bob Power Rankings and ‘Vegas’ Odds since after The Bachelor Season 25, Week 4, and shame on me. In this seemingly short two-week hiatus a lot of things have simultaneously changed AND stayed the same.

Some things that have changed:

  • The Bachelor mean girls are all finally gone–and not just “the OGs“–this group expanded rapidly over the last two weeks as the claws came out on several occasions, most notably when Heather Martin showed up for five minutes before being sent home.
  • Katie has left us as well. She went down swinging after doing all that she could to shed light on the toxic environment in the house. I think it just came down to her a) being in the friend zone, and b) production having had enough of her trying to diffuse their precious mean-girl drama.
  • Sweet Abigail is also gone after not receiving a one-on-one, nor really any attention at all from Matt after initially receiving the first impression rose. I’m not sure that this has ever happened in a traditional season of either The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. Matt (and probably production) really gave her a raw deal. He strung her along for seven weeks and made it seem like they had a special connection, only to send her packing way too soon and without any attempt to get to know her. Justice for Abigail.
  • Chris Harrison will not be attending After the Final Rose after massive backlash stemming from a despicable performance during an interview with former Bachelorette, Rachel Lindsay. He announced on Instagram that he will be stepping away from the franchise for an undetermined amount of time.

Some things that have remained the same:

  • ABC has continued to focus on the drama rather than the stories of this diverse group of women (and Matt). Newly emerging fan-favorite, @BachelorData, might have some information on this, but it sure seems like 75% of the program is just the women yelling at each other.
  • I still don’t know anything about Matt James. I know he’s tall, an athlete who likes dessert before dinner, is friends with Tyler C., and is the Bachelor. I can’t remember ever entering hometowns and knowing so little about the lead. What makes Matt tick? What is he looking for in a partner? Does anyone know? Bueller? Bueller?
  • Not to toot my own horn, but four of the top six (out of a pool of twenty women on The Bachelor Season 25) from the last iteration of this very ranking made it to hometowns.
