The Bachelor season 25
(ABC/Craig Sjodin) MATT JAMES /

The exit of a Bachelor Nation heroine and an already doomed return highlighted the biggest drama of The Bachelor Season 25, Episode 6.

In a season of The Bachelor where the drama promised by Chris Harrison has flowed more freely than any season in recent memory, The Bachelor Season 25, Episode 6 almost seemed too tame. These can’t be the women who have been so vindictive and cruel all season; there were hints, some stronger than others, but this seemed like a tease.

This week’s episode was basically just filler for the explosive drama of Episode 7. Don’t get me wrong, there was definitely some drama, and we’ll get to that, but this episode primarily served to set up the drama that is to come next episode.

The main drama, which will not be discussed until its unveiling, was pretty good, but in the two minutes it was given, it’s clear the majority of the drama will be carried over.

Those cliff hangers, man. They’ll get ya.

The Bachelor Season 25, Episode 6 “Token Drama” moments

I do want to highlight the four “Token Drama” moments which were so ironic, they couldn’t possibly have been written. Wink, wink. So, without further ado:

  1. Of course, with the bulk of the first 10 minutes of the episode devoted to the MJ and Jessenia two-on-one “date”, the women in the house were a bit antsy to get their time with Matt. “I just need some guaranteed time with Matt tonight,” a voice could be heard saying. Some noncommital murmuring and agreeing nods signaled that all the women wanted more time with Matt, shockingly, I know. So, out walked Matt Chris Harrison. Yikes. Well done, producers.
  2. The next morning, after the Katie and Serena C. scream-off, which may or may not be touched upon again, the women were hanging out on some couches in the house, and Kit said something along the lines of, “When does this s— end?” Obviously never, Kit. Cue up a white minivan rolling up to the Nemacolin gates, asking for Chris Harrison. Oh, man.
  3. After the surprisingly fun bowling group date, in which Chris Harrison (starting to sense a trend here…) set up a team bowl-off to secure that all-important time with Matt later in the evening, the Pink Petals won the attention of our Bachelor. The Blue Bombshells walked back to the house, crying and ripping on the outcomes of the night, only to receive a date card from Chris Harrison himself—inviting them back to the date! “Nine on one to four on one, and we have an exponentially higher rate of receiving a rose,” a voice said. CUE THE FIVE OTHER WOMEN WALKING BACK IN.
  4. And the best for last. “I need this for my relationship,” Jessenia said. “Tonight should be a normal night.” Well, well, well, how the turntables… Fresh off some drama to be discussed later, the women in the house anxiously awaited the group date (hm… this really is coming full circle), and Matt had just grabbed Pieper when who else but Heather strolled up to the front doors. You really can’t write this stuff.

I hope I’ve whetted your appetite a bit because we’re going to dive right into the three biggest drama-filled moments—minutes—of the night.
