New report claims ABC wants Clare Crawley and Dale Moss to ‘just go away’
By Cody Schultz
When it comes to controversial Bachelorette contestants, Clare Crawley and Dale Moss might just take the crown as two of the most controversial contestants to ever appear as part of the show.
From the moment Clare began her journey as The Bachelorette, it was clear she only had eyes for Dale which quickly led to her ostracizing the rest of the cast before finally blowing up The Bachelorette with a swift exit only weeks in. While some found their whirlwind romance sweet and romantic, many viewers questioned the validity of the relationship and its ability to last.
Unfortunately, viewers’ concerns became reality when Dale and Clare announced they had decided to take some time apart, officially separating less than three months after their engagement on the show. In wake of her separation from Dale, Bachelor Nation has been questioning whether Clare or Dale might return to the franchise as part of Bachelor in Paradise; however, as a new report indicates ABC has no plans to welcome either back.
“They want this couple to just go away,” an insider revealed to the OK! adding that the ABC brass recognizes “casting Clare was a mistake that the show would rather forget.”
Harsh as it might sound, the report does seem to carry some truth as Clare herself admitted last fall that she was not invited to the Men Tell All Special. At the time it seemed the decision was simply due to wanting to keep the focus on Tayshia, but perhaps it was the first step in putting distance between the franchise and Clare.
ABC doesn’t want Clare Crawley stealing Matt James’ thunder
Needless to say, the timing of Clare and Dale’s break-up definitely has not been ideal for ABC whose top priority is keeping the attention on current Bachelor Matt James.
“The new season of The Bachelor is airing right now; and they want viewers to focus on Matt James’ love story, not the disaster that Dale Moss and Clare Crawley have become,” OK!’s source alleges.
It’s a move that might again seem harsh, but who can blame ABC for wanting to keep the attention on Matt and not allow Clare and Dale’s drama to cast a shadow over what has been a great season of The Bachelor thus far.

The one silver lining for ABC which should help them to at least have some power in the narrative is that, per OK!, “Everyone on the show signs a contract that they cannot do press without permission for one year after the season finale airs.” As a result of the contract in place, Dale and Clare will be limited in the press they can do — something which should help ABC prevent too much of Matt’s thunder from being stolen from the couple.
