Clare Crawley was noticeably absent during The Bachelorette: Men Tell All special and as it turns out she wasn’t welcome at the special — at least according to Clare.

Season 16 of The Bachelorette has been an interesting one, to say the least.

Not only was production forced to think outside the box in coming up with a way to film the season in the middle of a global pandemic, but the creative team was forced to think on their feet when Clare Crawley unexpectedly ended her journey only a few short episodes in. As a result, Tayshia Adams was brought in to help fill the remaining episodes of the season and serve as the season’s second official bachelorette.

While the circumstances surrounding the season have been far from usual, we’ve still been treated to a great season with plenty of drama, feuds, and memorable moments. We saw more than a few heated exchanges, plenty of dramatic moments, and several emotional moments that had us breaking out the tissues.

The events of the season set the stage for what promised to be an unforgettable Men Tell All.

Although the annual Men Tell All indeed brought the drama — we’re still cringing at some of the blow-ups from the segment including Yosef’s return and trying to wrap our heads around the heated Bennett and Noah debacle — it was lacking in a few areas and we could help but feel cheated by the lack of men present. The special also didn’t quite feel complete without Clare Crawley and the men getting the chance to confront her over her brisk exit.

At first, it seemed like it was Clare who perhaps didn’t have an interest in being part of the special; however, according to Clare, it wasn’t that she didn’t want to be a part of the special but rather that ABC wouldn’t allow her to attend!

The Bachelorette’s Clare Crawley claims ABC wouldn’t allow her at Men Tell All special

On Monday night, Chris Harrison welcomed back a handful of men from this season for a condensed Men Tell All special where they rehashed some of the season’s biggest moments including the fights and feuds that left us speechless. One glaring omission from the special was a lack of Clare Crawley, who was unable to attend to face the men she left behind.

Clare’s absence left a major void in the special and it seems that void could have easily been filled as Clare herself revealed she would have loved to attend the Men Tell All special — she just wasn’t invited!

“I wish they would have let me be in attendance to let these men know in person how much their words and support have meant to me,” Clare tweeted during the Men Tell All special. “Thank you, gentlemen. From the bottom of my heart.”

Interesting!

Heading into the special, it was assumed it was Clare who decided not to return. Given Clare’s comment, though, it seems she was more than happy to return and that it was in fact ABC who didn’t want her involved with the special.

We can’t blame them for wanting to keep the focus on Tayshia; however, given they made a point of inviting Yosef it seems wrong not to extend that same offer to Clare.
