We’ve officially made it to the hometowns portion of The Bachelorette season 16, and everyone knows that’s when things start to get seriously real for the show’s lead and their remaining contestants. The same is certainly true for Tayshia Adams and her final contestants going into next week, and tonight’s episode was both heartfelt and super dramatic.

Tayshia had her hometown dates with Brendan Morais first, which included a cute makeshift carnival experience at the resort that his niece came along for. Tayshia then met Brendan’s brother and sister-in-law, who seemed like extremely genuine and sweet people. All went perfectly well for the first date!

The second hometown was with Zac Clark, who took Tayshia to a little New York City at the resort. The pair ate bagels, pizza, and practiced calling a cab. Tayshia then met Zac’s parents and brother, who were a bit more skeptical than Brendan’s family. However, all in all the date went well, and Zac’s parents are super cute.

After that was Ivan Hall‘s hometown date. He and Tayshia cooked Filipino food and bonded really well during their low-key day. His parents were also a bit skeptical about the whole process, but told Ivan they would welcome Tayshia into the family if they did get engaged.

And then, surprise! Ivan’s brother showed up unexpectedly, making for an extremely emotional moment. Ivan had mentioned multiple times throughout the date that he wished his brother would’ve been able to come, so it was no doubt an awesome surprise.

Tayshia’s date with Ben Smith came in last, and they had some fun in the sun in a fake Venice Beach at the resort. They then spent the night with Ben’s sister Madalyn and family friend Antonia Lofaso. Unfortunately, Ben was too scared to tell Tayshia that he was in love with her, all but sealing his fate on the show.

Who got kicked off The Bachelorette tonight?

We knew any elimination this far in would hurt. Unfortunately, Ben was sent home during tonight’s episode.
