Tonight’s episode of The Bachelorette is shaping up to be quite heartfelt and a little bit dramatic! It looks like Tayshia Adams’ season has been a great balance of both each week.
So far, we’ve seen former Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher come visit Tayshia to give her advice, and Tayshia asking Zac on a romantic one-on-one date, where it was revealed that Zac was also once married. Now that Tayshia knows that bit of his past, I wonder if that will affect his fate on the show in a positive way.
Another major element of tonight’s episode so far is that host Chris Harrison announced he’d be leaving for “personal” reasons, and that JoJo would be filling in for him temporarily. JoJo came in to meet the men smiling and excited about the new job, telling the contestants that she’s been in their shoes before, as well as Tayshia’s.
JoJo was the runner-up on Ben Higgins’ season of The Bachelor, and went on to become the Bachelorette for season 12. She ended up getting engaged to Jordan Rodgers, and the two are still together.
Why does Chris Harrison stop hosting The Bachelorette?
So why exactly did Chris decide to leave La Quinta Resort & Club? Well, he let the contestants know that he was going to take his son to college. Cute! The iconic host was married to Gwen Harrison from 1993 to 2012, and the two share two kids: Joshua and Taylor.
According to People, Chris son’ Josh committed to Texas Christian University in 2019.
Now that we know why Chris had to temporarily leave The Bachelorette, the only question remains: Did he have to quarantine prior to bringing his son to college, and then did he have to do so again before coming back to the La Quinta bubble? We might never know.
