The Bachelorette’s Peter Giannikopoulos reveals he has COVID-19 and crashed his car over the news

Shocking reveal from a new season 16 Bachelorette contestant, Peter Giannikopoulos.
According to People, Giannikopoulos took to social media this week and revealed to his following that he tested positive for COVID-19. The 32-year-old real estate advisor also made sure to share that he’s officially started his two-week quarantine.
On top of that, he also crashed his car over the news.
On Instagram, Peter opened up about where he’s at right now, writing, “I am going through a lot of emotions at the moment with so many thoughts in my head as to how this happened.” Check out the notably lengthy, but all around sincere, message regarding his experience with COVID-19 below.
Peter also explained how he wound up losing consciousness while behind the wheel and getting into a car accident after leaving the doctors office, claiming his anxiety “started to get the best of [him].” And I can’t blame him for that.
Upon reflection, Peter noted that things could’ve gone much worse, going on to note that his unexpected experience with COVID-19 is an example (and a reminder) that, “no matter who we are or what we do, we are all vulnerable.”
One thing is clear from the post: Tayshia Adams’ suitor feels both lucky and grateful to be okay, even if everything didn’t work out as he thought it would. At the end of his post, the Bachelorette contestant reminded his following that it’s more than okay to be “nervous, anxious, and feeling uncertain,” adding that we should never forget that, “we are all in it together.” Wise words, sir.
Fans who watched last night’s episode of The Bachelorette will know that he’s one of the new contestants this season. When Tayshia came onto the scene to replace Clare Crawley, there were 17 remaining contestants for her to get to know.
Chris Harrison then surprised everyone when he brought in four new guys, one of them being Peter.
We’re wishing Peter Giannikopoulos a full and speedy recovery.
