After Clare Crawley and Dale Moss got engaged on this week’s The Bachelorette, producers moved swiftly along, bringing Tayshia in to take over the reins the next day.
Tayshia Adams was FINALLY introduced as The Bachelorette at the end of Thursday’s episode and I’m here to provide the way-too-early rankings of the men for Tayshia based on my extensive knowledge of her and the two and a half minute trailer that ABC dropped on their Twitter account shortly after the episode ended.
In typical Bachelorette fashion, we only got about two minutes of Tayshia footage during Episode 4, but boy oh boy, was it worth the wait. She looked absolutely stunning and her brief conversation with Chris Harrison reinforced my expectations that she’ll make a great Bachelorette.
While we were finally introduced, it leaves us with a few questions. Will Tayshia be a good Bachelorette? Will all of the sixteen men who remain stay for Tayshia? Will they bring in new men? Will John Paul Jones show up? Will production give Tayshia enough time to get to know everyone and move through the process? Or will they rush things along as they did with Clare?
The Bachelorette Season 16: Two New Men (at least)
I’m sure we’ll find out the answers to all of these questions in the coming weeks of The Bachelorette, but I can confirm that there were at least two new men in the season trailer. The two new men, Noah and Spencer, were in Clare’s original pool of men, but they did not make the cut to meet her. It looks like production brought them back for Tayshia. Noah, in particular, was heavily featured in the trailer, but more on that later.
In previous iterations of The Bachelor Bob Power Rankings, I’ve grouped the men into five categories: GSJ Wannabees, Forgettables, Globetrotters, Paradise All-Stars, and Hometown Heroes. It’s too early to tell what will happen with the cast, so I’ll skip the categorization (and the “Vegas” odds) for now. Don’t worry though, they’ll both be back next week!
17. Spencer
Spencer is a newbie. I don’t know anything about him, but his face flashed on the screen of the trailer at 0:03, so we’ll insert him at #17 to start.
16. Blake Moynes
He’s way too into Clare to make it with Tayshia. There’s no chance that this works out with this Bachelorette.
15. Jason
He’s way too into Clare to make it with Tayshia. There’s no chance that this works out with this Bachelorette.
14. Kenny
13. Jay
12. Jordan C.
11. Demar
10. Bennett
I’m a little nervous about Bennett. He has quickly become a fan favorite, but I’m just not sure if he’ll have the chemistry with Tayshia that he would have had with Clare had she given him the time of day. It seems like Tayshia and Bennett are at very different places in their lives – Tayshia is a 30-year-old free soul who lives in California, while Bennett is a 36-year-old Wealth Manager in New York City. I’m extremely hopeful that we’ll see him early and often, though.
9. Brendan
8. Joe
Justice for Dr. Joe!
7. Riley
6. Ed
Ed is featured a lot in this trailer. He does happen to be complaining a lot and there’s a bunch of negativity coming out of his mouth, which never bodes well. He is seen hilariously holding a baby doll in one of the scenes, so that was enough for me to catapult him into the top six.
5. Chasen
A reminder, Chasen looks like the more muscular older brother of John B. from Outer Banks. Easy top five.
4. Zac C.
It looks like Zac C. may have a very strong connection with Tayshia. I’m a fan basing this on absolutely nothing because he was rarely on screen in the first four episodes, but based on the trailer, it looks like Tayshia may be a fan as well.
3. Ivan
Ivan is one of my favorites so far this season. Again, it looks like he’ll form a deep connection with Tayshia, which is great because he wasn’t featured nearly enough during Clare’s portion of the season. As a reminder, he’s a chess playing aeronautical engineer. What’s not to like?
2. Noah
Controversy. Drama. It wouldn’t be a season of The Bachelorette without them! Based on the 148 seconds of footage that ABC shared with us, it appears that Noah will stir up plenty of controversy throughout the season. With all of the editing that goes into these things, I’m almost positive that there’s a lot of misdirection here. HOWEVER, he is seen on-screen while Ed says, “It’s not always easy to see a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”
He is later seen on-screen while Mr. Adams (Tayshia’s dad) says, “Why him? There’s something wrong with this guy. As your father, it’s my job to protect you from making possibly the biggest mistake of your life.” I have a feeling that we’ll get to know Noah very well over the next several weeks.
1. Ben
Ben has been one of my favorites since day 1. It’s been a theme here, but we didn’t get to know him much during the first four episodes of the season. He’s a retired Army Ranger turned personal trainer who lives in Venice, CA. Becoming an Army Ranger is no small feat, so that alone is extremely impressive and enough to catapult Ben to the #1 slot in my books.
The good news for Ben is that he was also featured very prominently in the new trailer. Here’s to hoping it works out for him and Tayshia. If not, I’d be extremely surprised if we don’t see a lot of him in the future.
*Not Ranked: Eazy
Trigger Warning: Eazy emerged as an early fan favorite, but starting midway through the premiere, allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman emerged on Twitter and Reddit. Allegedly there have been attempts made to contact Bachelorette production and legal action has been taken. While we’re still learning the details and cannot confirm the veracity of these allegations, we believe it’s important to err on the side of believing women and have therefore chosen to leave Eazy off our power rankings indefinitely.
Who do you think will sweep Tayshia off of her feet? Who are your own personal favorites? Let me know in the comments!
Tune in to watch Tayshia’s journey to find love on Tuesday, 11/10 at 8/7c on ABC!
