Dancing With The Stars Week 8: Kaitlyn Bristowe dances the Jive and Samba
By Julia Wagner
Kaitlyn Bristowe and Artem Chigvintsev performed two dances this week on Dancing With The Stars!
It was a grueling episode this week on Dancing With The Stars, and all the celebs were feeling the pressure, including Kaitlyn Bristowe! Tyra Banks wore the biggest yellow dress I have ever seen in my life, and everyone was excited! Unfortunately, fan-favorite Jeannie Mai had to withdraw from the competition due to emergency surgery. Thankfully she seems to be doing okay, but she will be missed!
After coming off a disappointing Halloween Villains week, during which judge Carrie Ann Inaba suggested Kaitlyn “gave up,” Kaitlyn and Artem were determined to prove themselves with not one but two dances, first a fast-paced Jive set to the Queen classic “Don’t Stop Me Now.”
Kaitlyn and Artem had a hard week of rehearsals, beginning with the pair talking about how depressed and upset they were about last week. Kaitlyn talked about how tired she was, emotionally, physically, and mentally. She teared up, saying, “I feel like I’m never going to be good enough for what they hold me to.” However, she’s wasn’t giving up, as we saw in her first dance!
Kaitlyn and Artem were first in the line-up this week and danced an amazing pink-clad Jive. This seemed like the perfect dance for the perpetually upbeat Kaitlyn!
Derek was very complimentary of the content-packed choreography but continued to tell Kaitlyn to “attack” more. Bruno told Kaitlyn she “has what it takes,” but told her to inject more passion into her dances. Carrie Ann pointed out Kaitlyn’s backflip was actually a lift, something for which she deducted points. However, she did say it was one of Kaitlyn’s better dances!
The first dance earned an 8 from Carrie Ann, 9 from Derek, and 8 from Bruno.
For their second dance, Kaitlyn danced a Samba relay to the song “Levitating” by Dua Lipa, in a group with fellow competitors AJ and Skai. Bruno called Kailtyn’s dance “well-finished” and “sexy.” The pair got 3 extra points, putting them in 4th place on the leader board!
The night ended with one couple going home, and that couple was, unfortunately, Chrishell and Gleb! They will be missed!
Stay tuned for “Icons Night” next week!
